Title: Radiant Radish t-shirts
Post by: dellydel on July 03, 2013, 07:34:38 AM
Hey gang, who would like to own what is surely the most obscure Beach Boys related shirt ever? (well, to non-super fans at least)

I've recreated the Radiant Radish logo, made it a little vintage looking, and there ya go.  You can find it in lots of colors, as well as men's or women's styles, right in the link there below!  Lemme know what you think!!!

This is really cute! I'm always on the prowl for good BB shirts. Well done!

Holy cow, did ten of you buy this shirt over the weekend?  Or did one of you buy ten shirts?  :)

Whoever you are, lemme know how it looks when it arrives!!!

I may be wrong, but I dare say - Letsgoawayforawhile, EgoHanger1966, Swedish Frog, Zach Wolfe, Disney Boy (1985), SMiLE Brian, Amanda Hart, MaxL, Mikie and ivy/Billy C. Or if we take into account the 2nd scenario - then definitely someone who is so obsessed with vegetables drawn on T-shirts, let alone - radish.

Not me, but I would wear one of those. Looks great, dellydel.

Not me, either. But I do have one of those Brian Sandbox shirts. I haven't run into anyone who "gets it" yet, though. A little while back I wore it to a party, and I was talking to a girl who told me that my shirt was very abstract. I blurted out, "it's Brian Wilson in the sandbox!" like she was supposed to know what that meant.  ;D

Good guesses, RangeRover!

Thanks Amanda! What are you waiting for, go buy one! ;)

EgoHanger, I'm always waiting for somebody to recognize my Brian Sandbox shirt, and a coworker who's very hip and musical finally did, and it made me happy.  But that's the only one so far.  (and I'm honored that my shirt is being discussed at parties!!!)

Now I'll keep waiting for somebody to recognize the Radiant Radish shirt.  :)   I might die waiting.

Soooo... whoever did buy this, I want you to wear this to a Brian show, especially if you're going to do a meet & greet.  And then just wait for Brian to say "what the hey, where did you get that shirt?!?"

Of course, the other outcome is Brian has no memory of ever owning a health food and vitamin store  :lol

Wow!  I was just looking at your site.  Your shirts are amazing.  I love the Beach Boys themed ones of course, and the Woody Allen Bananas one.  You are very talented!

Hey that looks awesome!   ;D   Thanks everyone, I sold 12 shirts already, how exciting!

If these shirts generate any interesting stories for any of you, you gotta come back here and let us know!! :)

Also, I'll be adding my three Beach Boys-related designs to greeting cards, pillows, and other stuff soon, so I'll let you guys know.  The cards are the cheapest thing to buy on that store, and they can look pretty nice.

Thanks again!!!!!!!

Got mine Saturday in the natural color. Very nice shirt! Wore it yesterday. My mom asked, "What's a Radiant Radish?" So, I got to tell her the story. She likes Brian, so she thought it was pretty funny that he had a health food store.

Very cool indeed!  Any chance of getting one in XXXL?  If not, I guess that's more motivation to drop some more pounds.  I've lost 18 thus far.

Nice to hear, Lgafa! Btw, do you know warnakey? He posted here for awhile & even has his own BBs blog. You look a bit like him, judging by his avatar.

Hey CosmicDancer, the shirts only go up to 2X.. which isn't quite as big as triple extra large XXX.

Maybe its time for a slight summer diet!!  :D   The Brian Wilson steak and cake summer diet!

Hey you beautiful people!  Thank you for all the purchases, it warms the cockles of me heart to know there's more than 20 of these shirts floating around in the wild now!!! :)  And a few of the Brian's Sandbox and a few of the BB cartoon shirts too!

And now is the part where I ask even more of you!!   ;D  If you guys bought this shirt, or any of my other shirts, and if you've enjoyed the product, would you be so kind as to "promote" the item on my store?

Under the description of the shirt/design there's a little "promote" icon with a little heart, if you click the little heart then I'll have one more "like" on my thing!  And if you like any of my other designs, please promote them too!  (you have to be logged into Society6, of course...)

Thank you to whoever does this!  And thanks to whoever doesn't do it but bought a shirt anyways!!!  :)   And Brian Burger Bear shirts coming soon!

Had to look up the word "onesie". Lovely idea, bring it on!
May I ask - is it suitable to print the logos on any other type of clothes than T-shirt? Like a vest, cardigan, plain shirt, golfs, beret? Just curious, as I only see T-shirts having various signs, inscriptions & pictures on them when going to markets.

It should be mandatory that if you buy a RR t shirt, you post a photo in the User Pictures Thread.

Caption "RRA1 is wearing an RR T-shirt" reads cool. Like an angry little puppy language. On a serious note, I never bought anything online, so I've no idea how to do that, as unbelievable as it may sound.

This page that's selling the t-shirts, Society6, is adding new stuff all the time, like shower curtains and rugs and clocks... and they do have sweaters and wife-beaters and some variety of shirts.  But I don't foresee them adding vests or berets :)

If you want to buy any of my stuff online, I'd be happy to help, it's not that complicated!   ;D   But you would need to sign up for that page and create an account and stuff.

Del,  I bought one of these a few years ago and have just found this subsection of the Board.  I am going to order more but I would also love the baby version. I don't see it on the site, only men and women's.  Have they stopped doing them?

Hi Mike!  Yeah, Society6 has unfortunately discontinued their onesie line.  But, they're always adding and removing and changing things up, so I bet it'll come back sometime in the future.

Wow. My wife was lucky enough to visit MoMA in the late '70s. And there's been a recent Rothko exhibition in The Hague which we both visited. Unfortunately it was very busy, so there wasn't much chance to immerse oneself in the paintings----too much noise and too many heads in the way!

By a curious coincidence, the painting in my avatar is also in the MoMA collection:

Nice! I'm not super familiar with de Chirico's work but I like what I'm seeing.  I'll have to get a good eyeful of that one next time I'm at MoMA. Any reason is a good reason to go back to NYC! And by the way, love the quote in your signature. I'm a huge Bowie fan, even had a "Bowie Project" going for awhile. I'll probably revive it when the Lazarus cast album comes out with his last recorded tracks on it. Squeee!

The Rothko Chapel must be an extraordinary experience in real time.

(I've been through it virtually at the Hague show but that's hardly the same.)

The experience of the real, physical space of the Rothko Chapel is much different than that video. It's octagonal, and there are sets of panels on the majority of the walls. The panels are very dark, painted in toned blacks and brown, very different from Rothko's color field paintings. You can see some variations in tone and texture. The panels are large, but the lighting is muted much more than it appears in the video, so the effect is quite subtle. (The chapel has plans to upgrade the lighting, so we'll see how that changes things, if any.)

The inside of the chapel is considered sacred space, and visitors are expected to respect others and the place. There are benches in the middle, set so you can face the front space that corresponds to a chancel area or face each wall of panels for contemplation. There's also an area set aside for meditation on the floor in the chancel space.

OK, that's enough highjacking the thread, but Rothko is interesting, especially since my hubby took a course on him to meet his 20th century art history course requirement.
