Title: Where can I find the Beach Boys' famed 1967 Hawaii concerts?
Post by: Smile4ever on May 31, 2013, 01:07:07 PM
I've heard a couple songs posted on YouTube. Is there a way to hear this music and it's apparent Smiley Smile vibe?

Heroes & Villains - Concert/Live In London two-fer
God Only Knows - Endless Harmony Soundtrack
Surfer Girl - Good Vibrations boxed set
Good Vibrations - Hawthorne, C.A.
Their Hearts Were Full Of Spring - Smiley Smile/Wild Honey two-fer

Good answer, Paulos.

The Hawthorne "Good Vibrations" is the same rehearsal version which appears on the anniversary single, yes?

Also if by any chance you can find it, "The Letter" is on the 1983 Rarities album.

I understand there may be illicit recordings of these shows available, but of course, I wouldn't know where to start looking, nor would I condone anyone who did so.  ::)

And it's not like any of us have these songs on bootlegs and know the name of such bootlegs...

Jeez....  Just tell him the name of the boots!  You all have multiple copies, most likely. Don't do any French deals here, but give him the info.

If I had it/them, I would have added the info. I don't have a lot of that stuff on CDs

Lei'd in Hawaii - Rehearsals (August 25,1967), Vigotone VIGO-133 (1994)

"Aloha From Hawaii (and Hollywood)" Vigotone SP-147 (2001) is another one. One CD is Live at the Honolulu International Center, August 25, 1967 and the other CD is the "Live-in-the studio" rehearsals at Wally Heider's in Hollywood - September 11, 1967.

Another one is called  "Beach Boys Live at Honolulu International Center, Honolulu, HI, 8/26/67". This is the complete second show.

Don't ask me how I know about this. These are underground recordings and not intended for resale. You can go to jail or be subjected to a hefty fine by the RIAA and/or BRI if you are caught distributing this illicit contraband.
