Hey, do you live here in Hannover or does your friend? I guess I'll take the train the day before the gig, as I am going to take the opportunity to visit friends in Berlin that week-end.

My ticket is for block 220. I couldn't book a ticket for block A or B which I would have preferred, don't know whether I was late or they were sold elsewhere. I guess I'll take my binoculars. :wink How much are the seats in blocks A and B?

I'd say we meet up at some pub (or something) in close vicinity of the O2 arena, about 5 or 6 p.m., that'd give 2-3 solid hours before the show starts. On the other hand, we could also rendezvous at the main station ("Berlin Hauptbahnhof") and then proceed to find us a nice little tavern.  :)

What do you guys think?

I'll be there at the Berlin gig. Let's do it. O2 is located on a barren wasteland, but Kreutzberg just across the river is filled with nice places to sit and drink. Or hey, how about the Eastern Comfort hostel boat just next to O2? They have a bar. It would be so cool, straight outta Holland cover!

Yesterday I had the craziest idea. I thought about how cool it would be to have shirts, maybe long sleeve muscle shrits (see picture below) completely styled with the Smiley Smile cover. Could also work for Wild Honey.

Just got my train tickets. I'll arrive at about 4pm (8/3) and will leave the big B the next day on an evening train.

I'll be flying in for about 3pm and then onward travel to the Hotel and then rush to the 'Boat' , I am sure I will be rather thirsty at that stage  ;D

I'm flying in the day before so I can do some sightseeing so will in Berlin all day on the day of the gig. Had a bit of a scare when I looked up O2 World on googlemaps to see a building site where the venue should be, then I noticed the photo was 3 years old and relaxed.

head still on, or some other European cuisine.

Let me tell you, these things are easier in Helsinki, Finland. There's about two really plush hotels in town, and all the stars are always in either one of them. Just pop up in front of the hotel a few hours before the concert and say hi to Macca (or whoever). I guess town the size of Berlin has too many hotels to be sure.

Okay, I finally got through to someone on the boat. I booked two tables in the lounge for ~10 people and I informed them that most of us will arrive between 4 and 5pm. If you're the first to arrive ask for Carsten - our reservation is under my last same: Sievers. They also have my cell phone number.

Had a massive shock today , my flight with Lufthansa has changed on friday from 13.05 to 19.05 which would have meant missing the gig , apparently my travel agent sent me an email some months ago about the change BUT it appears that it went straight to my junk mail GREATTTTTTTTTTTTTT

However now sorted and fly in late tomorrow evening , panic over thank goodness

Means I can now relax in Berlin for the day with no rushing about , see you all between 4 - 5pm  :-D

After two more days in Berlin, two long Kreuzberg nights, two-hour flight to Helsinki and six-hour drive North, I'm finally home. Thanks everyone, this was definitely one of the greatest weekends of my life! It was nice meeting you all, hopefully not for the last time. All you now have faces. Some of them bearded, some not. To loosely quote the movie "Hangover", I was a lonely wolf with my Beach Boys obsession, but now I feel like I've found my pack. We gotta do this again some day!

Nothing, I hope... We had a nice night in Berlin after the concert, went our separate ways around 6 AM. Details a bit fuzzy. Well, I'm sure he'll pop up somewhere soon enough. After all, a week's holiday from a message board ain't no cause for concern, yet.

I only just saw this, no worries Rocker it was good to meet you and everyone else, first time I've had the chance to geek-out about the Beach Boys with people!
