Long time, no speak.  However, just a word or two, to let you know that  AGD is suffering from a very, very  poorly laptop.  He is not, as you can imagine, a Very Happy Bunny about this.  Over at BBB, we're waiting for him to complete the BBB Newsletter, so even the timing is not the best .

Hopefully though. he'll be back with you, just as soon as he can...

I was starting to wonder about what was going with AGD as well.

OMG, my heart went into my throat. I was steeling myself for bad news.

Sorry about the laptop but glad my ol' pal is as good as he gets.

 OH...he'll be back, for sure...and doing his usual  :wall  and even  :thud and of course, not forgetting  :woot , whilst sorting you all out with a  :jedi and of certainly, the occasional  :angry and not to mention  :whatever...

Me too. Ironically, last time we talked I bitched about how my computer was finally about to kick the bucket.Yesterday I got a brand new laptop for my birthday and was gonna tell him.

I say we all chip in $20 each and buy him a new Mac Book Pro

Smiley Smilers - Don't believe Val's claim that AGD is suffering from a poorly performing laptop.  It is a blatant lie. 

The truth of the matter is that a couple of weeks ago, on a whim, AGD began posting under an additional screen name: "ghost".  Demonstrating AGD's deep knowledge of Beach Boys history, despite periodic flashes of questionable maturity, AGD's posts under the nom de plume "ghost" have garnered so much attention that Mr. Doe has has simply lacked the time to post under his true name. 

At this point it remains to be seen when AGD will venture back into often stodgy world of unadulterated fact, preferring, for the time being, the whimsical world of his alter ego.

It's funny because they're polar opposites, but both are the summation of why this board rocks. Or, to speak more in the board's sometime dialect, ghost is the yin to AGD's yang .  Or is it the other way around? :lol

maybe more 'young' than 'ying' to his yang?

I wonder what AGD will think when he sees this thread and realises that we're all talking about his yang?  :lol

I just hope that AGD didn't lose any of the memory on his computer - after all, he was holding the exclusive liner notes, graphics, and wav files of the entire contents of the box set!  If that is lost...it will mean further delays in the Smile box set!   :p

So, I have this theory, right, that Brian Wilson actually became a Hindu during Smile because he read this book by the Dalai Llama and meditated with him, and Brian's autobiography backs this up, and Smile is supposed to represent the arms of Ganesha.

Does anyone dispute this?

I heard that Brian actually WAS the Dalai Lama in the 70's, but apparently cocaine abuse and a fondness for steak are fairly suitable grounds for dismissal.

 
Also, apparently he was never seen in an orange bathrobe. :lol

Brian actually became  Jehovah's Witness in 1967. Smile was to have been his teenage symphony to God but rather than release the music on vinyl and take the chance that some people wouldn't buy it, he panicked, scrapped the release of the – get this – finished album and embarked on a life-long crusade of calling on people's doorsteps to spread the good news.

Last week he got round to calling on Andrew and bade him to forsake his laptop and followeth him. Which he henceforth and verily hath done.

So worry ye not, cos they'll be chapping on your door soon, to save your souls.

Hi John, I know he's not Hindu, just like Lama isn't spelled 'llama', but i could have been clearer that i was joking... :)

That makes sense because the original title of 'Look' was 'Watchtower', and the runtime is 140,000 milliseconds (i.e. 2min 33s) to represent the numbers of elect in heaven, I think we both know AGD won't dispute me on that.

It should be against the law for grown men to listen to The Beach Boys naked. Too many songs about Little Surfer Girls and the like that make it difficult to dismiss to a startled onlooker. Believe me, I know.  ;D
