The Smiley Smile Message Board

I had a thought:  I certainly never intended to manage a message board.  Things were much easier when I was just donating a board to Jon and John, despite the complaints I received about threads being deleted, hurt feelings, etc.  And certainly, while I appreciate the support I've received, it's clear some would be more comfortable if someone else was running this board.

So: who wants to apply to be Administrator?

Personally, I think you've done a great job with the site and would be disappointed to see you go because of such foolishness.

Oh, I would still be along for the ride, and I have main site to work on.  But someone else, more qualified than me, can handle the message board.

I can help as a moderator, to help and clean up posts if necessary, but I dont think we really need another Admin. Administrator access isnt necessary for more than one person...

Since half the board left, I dont think itll be as hard to moderate anymore :p

I don't mean having someone to assist me, I mean having someone administrate instead of me.  It's more time consuming than complicated.  Certainly with me paying the bills, I'd have a say in how things were run, but I'd rather keep my nose out of things as much as possible.

Ahh Charles, don't let those guys kill this board.  The people that don't want you doing it are gone,
and that's fine with me.  I love how they are acting all pure-as-the-freshly-fallen-snow now when I've
been harrassed and ripped off by a couple of them. 

Keep it going Charles.  Those of us that want to talk music and put this past us are still here.

Yeah, Im with my homeslice TvForces. Im not moving anywhere...this board is where its at. If they want to leave, then so be it. But this board rocks the casbah in terms of great info on the BB and other great music. I checked out the SmileShop board, and its nicely done, but it doesn't come close to this one.

Oh, I promise you, the board is not going to be killed.  However, my time is limited, and outside of all the "real world" concerns that, of course, take prededent over anything here, I have the Smiley Smile and Comiclist sites to run.  Not only would finding someone to watch over this board give me a break, it would also put the ball back into the court of those who left because of issues with me.  Kind of hard to say you are staying away because of me running things if I let someone else run things.

I don’t understand what happened and what lead to the exodus of ‘The Others’. We had a great thing going here. And we still do. But we get a lot of put-downs from certain people who take dips in both ponds. I don’t care. We’ve got Alan Boyd, Steve Desper and Mark Linett. And I’m not interested in having to sift through 100 topics about early British Invasion bands to discuss The Beach Boys. Thus, I remain here. I just want to talk about the Beach Boys, I'm not interested in all this other BS.

Also, where else can I find out when the next issue of Captain America is coming out?

Charles, you have done a terrific thing by keeping this site alive for us. I hope we can keep it going, even through these strange times.

I think, in your personal settings here, you can turn on the word censor.  Of course, since it's turned off just for this theme, that might not work here.  You might have to change the theme for the whole board to this one and then make the change.

I'm really not going to miss Ian's one sentence responses and his constant bootleg title dropping.  I WILL miss Andrew Doe if he is in fact leaving. 

We still got amosario, Bubba, Rerun, king, and others.  Let the new generation begin!

The new SMiLE shop looks fancy, but that's about it. 
Maybe now we can talk more about music.

About 5-10 people did, but by gaining new members, the number is now going up.

I can be a moderator if you'll tell me what that all includes.

Your post is a lot more pathetic than this thread and the the people who have posted in it. Ian, you've always been the one talking about love and spirit and what-not, but at the first chance you get you insult and mock people. Remember that time you were banned for flipping out on this site? I think you've got a temper problem.

I love how people bring age into consideration only when it's suitable for their insult. As I see it, age has no bearing on the way one handles himself. This is an obvious truth seen as though half of the older people here have as little self control on an internet message board as I do at 17 years.

The only unwarrented hate is coming from the misinformed and the folk who don't give a crud about what has happened here in the past few weeks. I have nothing but respect for everyone on all of these sites. There are enough people still left at this site who will come to your defense for you.
