Post by: Mike's Beard on February 10, 2011, 11:01:10 AM 99.9% doubtful it would happen, but if it did that would be the cherry on the cake.

Title: Re: The Flame To Reunite Next Month!!! Post by: Dove Nested Towers on February 11, 2011, 12:19:37 AM This is very exciting. Perhaps this is the first step in creating a buzz that will result in their (according to Steve Desper) superior 2nd '70s album finally being given the O.K. for release. Doubtful.... :(
Title: Re: The Flame To Reunite Next Month!!! Post by: Loaf on February 11, 2011, 02:53:18 AM I found the Flame's Brother Records LP in a Louisiana junk shop for $1. It still had the quadrophonic insert.
It's an alright album. Better than Hold On Dear Brother and Leaving This Town, but not as good as We Got Love. Title: Re: The Flame To Reunite Next Month!!! Title: Re: The Flame To Reunite Next Month!!! Post by: Howie Edelson on February 19, 2011, 10:04:08 AM Blondie says the show will consist of an hour-plus set from him, Ricky and Steve Fataar -- with a local bass player rounding out the lineup.
Title: Re: The Flame To Reunite Next Month!!! Post by: Ed Roach on February 21, 2011, 03:00:39 PM Don't think Blondie will ever blow me away more than he did with this band http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7e0TswzKGq4&feature=related and I feel so f*cking lucky to have memories of them doing these late late sets at dives like Mdm. Wong's in both Santa Monica & Chinatown, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Esther_Wong and various other crazy music/alcohol/sex&drug dens in Venice & West L.A. that sadly are no more... Or maybe not - maybe that has something to do with why I'm still alive & kickin'!

The recordings from the Woodstock Reunion Concert were really nice: http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/rick-danko-and-paul-butterfield/concerts/parr-meadows-september-07-1979.html (http://www.wolfgangsvault.com/rick-danko-and-paul-butterfield/concerts/parr-meadows-september-07-1979.html) Love to hear "Sail On Sailor" with that blusey intro, & harp coda. I got to see a similar lineup (no Butterfield, but with Richard Manuel on keys) about a year later at a free outdoor show in New Jersey. Took a lot of black & white photos of Danko & Blondie. I'll have to dig them up one day. |
