Punk is raw, dirty, stripped down, rebellious, aggressive, bratty, opinionated... The Beach Boys were none of these things - or at least their music wasn't. Whenever I'm listening to music it's usually either The Beach Boys or punk rock, and to me personally these two always felt like exact opposites. But maybe that's just me. Then he became the King of Assdom and was gone two years after they started. Brian and Dennis loved Murry so much, they didn't even show up to his funeral.

The circle not only looks a lot better with four names, but it just seems 10 times more cool as a conversation piece, as well as something that would be worn by a true fan of the band and their history. The shirt looks nice with three names, but rather mundane and uninspiring. Adding Murrys name makes it quite unique and dramatically raises the coolness factor. Liam Gallagher definitely would have noticed the shirt with Murry's name on there, thinking, "Oh, those Wilsons!"
I can just picture BW, CW, and DW on stage with MW in the audience passing out "I'm Brian's Dad" buttons and then attempting to get the attention of the guys as he motions to them to move closer to the mics, turn up the treble, etc, etc. Yeah, Murry had many faults which the guys had to put up with, but he was also an integral part of their early days. It takes a famous theme, and completely respins it so that at first it's not immediately noticeable what the shirt is even about. Maybe a Beach Boys inspired one of somekind? ***spoiler************ If you can't figure the shirt out, it's a pac man shirt. Basically the guy is trapped on a spacestation, and all of his coleagues have died.... this was a fun project for diehard fans... a specialty market for sure. my initial batch was only 12 shirts, so I'm really not making much money here. The Beach Boys weren't punk just because they had a few energetic rock 'n' roll songs, or because they influenced punk bands like the Ramones, the Queers and the Travoltas. Punk is raw, dirty, stripped down, rebellious, aggressive, bratty, opinionated... The Beach Boys were none of these things - or at least their music wasn't. Whenever I'm listening to music it's usually either The Beach Boys or punk rock, and to me personally these two always felt like exact opposites. But maybe that's just me. I advise anyone and everyone who's a Beach Boys fan to listen to the Queers and Travoltas if they haven't already; 'specially these Queers albums- "Don't Back Down", "Punk Rock Confidential", "Pleasant Screams" and "Munki Brain"; as well as the Travoltas' "Teenbeat", "Modern World", and "Endless Summer".
