Mike had grown his beard in by then, and that was the one & only time I experienced that sort of camaraderie between them... By the time I saw Dennis again, when they next came east, I could tell things had changed between them. When I first ventured west a few months after that, to stay at Dennis' house, I became much more aware of why things had changed. And before you ask why, please don't. That's for another time...
