Title: Original Versions Of Tunes That Became TLOS Post by: Menace Wilson on August 11, 2010, 09:58:23 AM Hey guys,
In the TLOS dvd, Brian mentions at least twice that he prefers his original songs/demos over the versions that were modified to fit with the theme of TLOS. He specifically says that he laid down 18 tunes with Bennett over a relatively short period of time. Do any of the experts around here know anything about the rest of those tunes? "Message Man" was the only one I remember hearing, and I liked it quite a lot. Love to think that there's a sort of modern "Love You" floating around out there.... edited to say: apologies if this has been covered already Title: Re: Original Versions Of Tunes That Became TLOS Post by: Wirestone on August 11, 2010, 10:21:10 AM Most of the 18 tracks are out there, officially or unofficially.
Message Man Oh Mi Amor Just Like Me and You I'm Into Something Good (w/Carole King) were all released as bonus tracks. They all come from that summer. At some point, those demos were used (with revised lyrics included) to construct a full-on demo of TLOS. I'm assuming it was sent to band members and others to prepare for the live premiere. That collection of stuff is out there, and includes the Wilson-Bennett demos for the 10 songs used on TLOS. Notably, of course, the demos for MAD and FSBMSG were released on BW.com in 2007. Thus, some 14 of those 18 tunes are findable. I think one of the unbooted ones is yet another version of Proud Mary.
