Title: Postcard from California CD
Post by: Matt H on July 27, 2010, 08:33:01 PM
Just got the following email from Paula Springer, I am guessing one of the tracks will be "California Dreamin":

Thank you so much for sending us your comments. We are happy to hear the
music is being enjoyed by so many.

Due to the numerous requests and inquiries regarding a physical copy of the
Cd, please be advised that “A Postcard from California” WILL be available
forthcoming along with two extra bonus tracks. Please continue to check
www.aljardine.com for updates regarding availability and how to purchase.

Thanks so much for your continued support.

Great! It would be cool if it'll comes with a special dvd with makingof videos (some of them posted aljardine.com).
How can I send e-mail to Paula Springer?
Send a PM to me, please.
Thanks!

Haha!  I remember that!  It was a joke, but I said that it was a very believable joke, so I wasn't sure if you were kidding!  :-D

Oh well, I'll think of the cd-r as a "collector's item".

Indeed!

I had finally bought a mp3 copy, but this time they won't get my money. That's just a lack of respect.  :smash

LOL YOU BOUGHT AN ALBUM THAT WAS ONLY AVAILABLE AS MP3S AND A MONTH LATER WE'RE RELEASING THE EXACT SAME THING BUT ON CD AND WITH TWO BONUS TRACKS, GIVE US YOUR MONEY AGAIN LOL

No. Just no. That's almost in-real-life trolling.  :angry

Well, I managed to score a freebie download from Amazon UK (long story, but I can be both persistent and convincing when required), so chances are I'll get the CD. Prefers me the hard copy, anyway.

Well I got the actual CD a short time after it's release. I think "Don't Fight The Sea" is my favorite track. I am so glad Al was finally able to get this out. I had messaged Trish about it about a year ago and she told me the hassles they were going through trying t get it out. I honestly think AL has the best voice now of all the guys. He still sounds like he did in 1965.

I got mine from iTunes, so having a physical CD -- with bonus tracks -- will be a real treat! And I get to buy it directly from the artist, also good. Now, if they'll only take personal checks....

Hopefully they'll release the two bonus tracks on iTunes in the near future...

Why should Al be different from all the others who do this?

Well, seeing as it's taken him the lifespan of some administrations to actually get the damn thing out at all, we figured he'd wait maybe another decade or so before offering up a CD edition with bonus tracks.  ::)

Anyone care to speculate (or reveal) what the bonus tracks might be?

Dunno about '65, but he still sounds pretty close to how he did in the 70s.

I'm guessing his "California Dreamin'" with David Crosby will be one of them.

Maybe one of them might be the slow, contemplative remake of California Saga that was a demo for Stars & Stripes, that was released on an ESQ CD a few years back.  Someone else above mentioned California Dreamin.  That would be cool.

Is this the Amazon made cd ? http://cgi.ebay.com/AL-JARDINE-Postcard-California-Beach-Boys-12-NEW-/200498922433?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Music_CDs&hash=item2eaeaac3c1

Way to expensive for my taste. I got them already from Itunes and i will wait for the cd with bonus tracks.

Better to just go straight to amazon and get it for $11.99.  But now with this news of a real CD, it may be best to wait for that.
