Title: God Only Knows - *those flutes* at 1:46 Post by: willy on July 08, 2010, 02:08:47 PM I have not heard any of the footwear stuff if this is covered in those sessions but *where* did those flutes come from? Was it Brian's pre-arrangement or was it the session flautist/s who suggested them there, because there is nothing else in the song to prepare you for what may be the BB's most celestial moment. I've often talked at great length about those few seconds. After 40 years, *still* my greatest few seconds of anything the guys released. I don't have the PS box at hand right now so cannot remember the musician/s. Those flutes together with 'Our Prayer' show to me Brian was right that "music is God's voice"!
