Title: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: TdHabib on May 14, 2010, 03:23:15 PM Well, here we go again: Brian and Melinda have just adopted another child: Dakota Rose.
From the blueboard: (posted by Administrator on May 14, 2010 at 1:55 pm) Message: Hello everyone: We want to share the news of the newest addition to the Wilson family: Dakota Rose. As Brian and Melinda say, "And one more makes five! We now have a basketball team." Just when you thought you could predict the Wilson saga ;D Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: TdHabib on May 14, 2010, 03:25:13 PM Just to keep count straight, the Wilsons have 5 kids and 17 dogs, right?
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Andrew G. Doe on May 14, 2010, 03:41:08 PM The number of dogs seems to decrease with each interview. Personally, I think Brian's eating them, one at a time. :o
And yes, five children now: Daria Rose (1996) Delanie Rae (1998) Dylan Douglas (2004) Dash Tristan (2009) Dakota Rose (2010) Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Wirestone on May 14, 2010, 03:55:47 PM This. is. now. insane.
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: JaredLekites on May 14, 2010, 04:48:58 PM Watching some of Brian and Melinda's kid reactions to the music while they were recording "Lucky Old Sun" at Capitol is one of my favorite parts of the LUCKY OLD SUN DVD. Dylan singing "Love and Mercy" over the talk-back with the hugest smile on his face is such a joy to see. I don't blame Brian and Melinda for wanting as many of these little moments as they can possibly get.
Must be a full house but now that Daria and Delanie are older, I'm sure they'll be helping Mom and Dad out some. Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Don_Zabu on May 14, 2010, 04:50:43 PM He's building an army, I tell ya! An army!
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Wirestone on May 14, 2010, 05:38:14 PM One -- aw.
Two -- cute. Three -- now they're a good sized family. Four -- that's a bit peculiar, but okay. Five -- WTF? Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: urbanite on May 14, 2010, 07:51:11 PM Isn't Brian almost 70? I think it's nuts.
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Jason on May 14, 2010, 08:04:50 PM Their house is now an animal shelter AND an orphanage!!
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Don_Zabu on May 14, 2010, 08:50:24 PM "Pretty soon, we'll be a family o' three"
Might've missed the mark there, Brian. Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Ron on May 14, 2010, 09:21:03 PM The age thing is crazy, but who am I to tell somebody they can or can't have kids? more power to them, I hope everything goes well and they have one BIG happy family.
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Mahalo on May 14, 2010, 10:27:03 PM God Bless Him and Melinda... giving a damn good home to those children.
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Mike's Beard on May 15, 2010, 04:23:21 AM So that's 5 kids, 17 dogs and a Brian to look after - Melinda sure has her hands full!!
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Andrew G. Doe on May 15, 2010, 04:33:44 AM So that's 5 kids, 17 dogs and a Brian to look after - Melinda sure has her hands full!! Yeah... right... ::) Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Loaf on May 15, 2010, 06:56:08 AM I wonder if there's a correlation between Brian's productivity and the number of screaming kids in his house...
1998: 2 kids, Imagination 2004: 3 kids, GIOMH and Smile 2009/10: 5 kids, Gershwin, Disney & Don Was... If Landy got Brian to work by keeping his friends and family away from him, maybe Melinda's taking the opposite approach... :) Maybe once they adopt Dustmite Diamond Wilson in 2012 we'll get a 'Love You' album-in-full solo tour. Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: DonnaK on May 15, 2010, 07:34:49 AM Feeling bad for those children......is it better to be left alone with tons of money and no parents because they are too old to take care of them and or dead, or to have "normal" young, average income parents????? I'm definitely thinking this has gone way out of control......Missy needs another hobby and the courts need to stop this.
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Mike's Beard on May 15, 2010, 07:42:54 AM I have to ask this even through I feel rather insensitive for doing so but how does a man with such well documented mental illness get the okay to adopt children?

Post by: A Million Units In Jan! on May 15, 2010, 09:05:41 AM Maybe after they get a couple more, they'll be up for a new Wilson reality TV show, 'Eight Is Enough'.
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Andrew G. Doe on May 15, 2010, 01:08:42 PM What was that Doris Day movie... "With Six You Get Eggroll". ;D
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: slothrop on May 15, 2010, 01:59:28 PM Question: So I know Brian's not like a word wizard or anything, but what's with all the "D" names?
Title: Brian adopted ANOTHER baby?! Post by: ♩♬🐸 Billy C ♯♫♩🐇 on May 15, 2010, 02:21:39 PM Didn't even know this...my God... this makes 5.

Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Wrightfan on May 15, 2010, 05:54:52 PM Not one to tell anybody how many kids to have but the "we now have a basketball team" quote is weird.
Totally a dig at the Love family :-D Title: Re: Brian adopted ANOTHER baby?! Post by: ♩♬🐸 Billy C ♯♫♩🐇 on May 15, 2010, 08:51:08 PM Oh snap...I thought that was a different topic (got it mixed up with the thread about seeing Mike Love doing yoga). I can only view posts about ~33% of the time.
Title: Re: Brian adopted ANOTHER baby?! Post by: kirkmc- banned on the run on May 16, 2010, 12:02:37 AM Just what a guy pushin' 70 needs kickin' around the house (amidst the 15 "yapping" rats)-a fifith child...Perect...
Let the man have some peace for cryin' (no pun intended) out loud! Mercy! Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... It's his favourite letter of the alphabet this month. ::) Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Paulos on May 16, 2010, 01:33:16 AM Didn't they only just adopt the last one like 5 months ago? This is getting weird now.
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Andrew G. Doe on May 16, 2010, 02:43:17 AM About a year, actually.
Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: A Million Units In Jan! on May 16, 2010, 08:52:53 AM Maybe it has something to do with feeling like something's missing from your life (in this case, Melinda's). I'm no psychologist, and I'm probably way off base, but look: being married to Brian Wilson probably isn't the easiest thing in the world. I imagine the conversation is limited, the sex is non-existent, and you have to worry on a daily basis about what Brian you're gonna get on that day. She needs to have something to keep her busy and also to feel the love that another person can give you-and as any parent knows, there is NO love like the kind you get from your children.
Just a thought. Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Andrew G. Doe on May 16, 2010, 09:06:45 AM being married to Brian Wilson probably isn't the easiest thing in the world. I imagine the conversation is limited... You'd be surprised: I've been with Brian in a social (i.e. non-meet & greet !) setting and, in a situation where he feels comfortable, he's a great guy to be around, chatty and just hilariously funny. I would never play poker with him... Title: Re: Couldn't make this up if I tried... Post by: Paulos on May 17, 2010, 09:39:21 AM About a year, actually. I got confused, Dash was orignally placed with BriMel on 24th Jan 2009 with it being finalised on the 09th Oct 2009. That's why it seemed so close together to me. Post by: jimmyboy on May 18, 2010, 04:40:12 PM I feel sorry for Carnie and Wendy. It must feel weird to them. It also affects Brian's estate.
