Well, here we go again: Brian and Melinda have just adopted another child: Dakota Rose.

Hello everyone: We want to share the news of the newest addition to the Wilson family: Dakota Rose. As Brian and Melinda say, "And one more makes five! We now have a basketball team."


Just when you thought you could predict the Wilson saga  ;D

Just to keep count straight, the Wilsons have 5 kids and 17 dogs, right?

The number of dogs seems to decrease with each interview. Personally, I think Brian's eating them, one at a time.  :o

And yes, five children now:

Daria Rose (1996)
Delanie Rae (1998)
Dylan Douglas (2004)
Dash Tristan (2009)
Dakota Rose (2010)

This. is. now. insane.

Watching some of Brian and Melinda's kid reactions to the music while they were recording "Lucky Old Sun" at Capitol is one of my favorite parts of the LUCKY OLD SUN DVD. Dylan singing "Love and Mercy" over the talk-back with the hugest smile on his face is such a joy to see. I don't blame Brian and Melinda for wanting as many of these little moments as they can possibly get. 

Must be a full house but now that Daria and Delanie are older, I'm sure they'll be helping Mom and Dad out some.

He's building an army, I tell ya! An army!

One -- aw.
Two -- cute.
Three -- now they're a good sized family.
Four -- that's a bit peculiar, but okay.
Five -- WTF?

Isn't Brian almost 70?  I think it's nuts.

Their house is now an animal shelter AND an orphanage!!

Might've missed the mark there, Brian.

The age thing is crazy, but who am I to tell somebody they can or can't have kids?  more power to them, I hope everything goes well and they have one BIG happy family.

God Bless Him and Melinda... giving a damn good home to those children.

I wonder if there's a correlation between Brian's productivity and the number of screaming kids in his house...

1998: 2 kids, Imagination
2004: 3 kids, GIOMH and Smile
2009/10: 5 kids, Gershwin, Disney & Don Was...

If Landy got Brian to work by keeping his friends and family away from him, maybe Melinda's taking the opposite approach... :)

Maybe once they adopt Dustmite Diamond Wilson in 2012 we'll get a 'Love You' album-in-full solo tour.

Feeling bad for those children......is it better to be left alone with tons of money and no parents because they are too old to take care of them and or dead, or to have "normal" young, average income parents????? I'm definitely thinking this has gone way out of control......Missy needs another hobby and the courts need to stop this.

 I have to ask this even through I feel rather insensitive for doing so but how does a man with such well documented mental illness get the okay to adopt children?

Maybe after they get a couple more, they'll be up for a new Wilson reality TV show, 'Eight Is Enough'.

Oh snap...I thought that was a different topic (got it mixed up with the thread about seeing Mike Love doing yoga). I can only view posts about ~33% of the time.

About a year, actually.

Maybe it has something to do with feeling like something's missing from your life (in this case, Melinda's). I'm no psychologist, and I'm probably way off base, but look: being married to Brian Wilson probably isn't the easiest thing in the world. I imagine the conversation is limited, the sex is non-existent, and you have to worry on a daily basis about what Brian you're gonna get on that day. She needs to have something to keep her busy and also to feel the love that another person can give you-and as any parent knows, there is NO love like the kind you get from your children.

Just a thought.

You'd be surprised: I've been with Brian in a social (i.e. non-meet & greet !) setting and, in a situation where he feels comfortable, he's a great guy to be around, chatty and just hilariously funny. I would never play poker with him...

I got confused, Dash was orignally placed with BriMel on 24th Jan 2009 with it being finalised on the 09th Oct 2009. That's why it seemed so close together to me.

Andrew, you've deliberately avoided telling us what the sex is like!
