Brian can't remember the words to God Only Knows. Do you really think he can pull off Feel Flows? Even Carl couldn't remember the lyrics. Title: Re: songs we still wanna hear live from Brian's band Post by: Jay on April 18, 2010, 09:26:21 PM I want to hear Brian and his band do Everybody Wants To Live. ;D Actually, the whole Adult Child album would be great.
Title: Re: songs we still wanna hear live from Brian's band Post by: Jason on April 18, 2010, 09:34:37 PM Dude, you know why Brian doesn't do anything Beach Boys-related after 1973 excepting Good Timin' and (VERY occasionally) The Night Was So Young? Because a lot of his "biggest supporters in the band" hate all of the albums after Holland. Even Brian's second biggest fan ever (biggest ever is Michael Love) hates Love You with a passion.

Title: Re: songs we still wanna hear live from Brian's band Post by: Paulos on April 19, 2010, 01:13:40 PM A Day In The Life of a Tree. Brian could nail this with his current voice. If Brian did this live I would be mightily impressed! I hated this song the first 5-6 times I heard it and then one day something clicked and I love it now, Beach Boys songs have a habit of doing that don't they? Also if members of Brians current band don't like post-Holland stuff then I guess that logic means we never have to hear anything off GIOMH ever again right? Right?????? Title: Re: songs we still wanna hear live from Brian's band Post by: Jason on April 19, 2010, 01:16:09 PM I meant post-Holland BEACH BOYS stuff. There's a difference. If Melinda had her way we would have had GIOMH played in its entirety.

Oh and the thought of a 'Brian Wilson Presents Gettin' In Over My Head Live' tour is terrifying and will probably give Andrew an aneurysm! I'm pretty sure Love You would happen before that ! Title: Re: songs we still wanna hear live from Brian's band Post by: Wirestone on April 19, 2010, 03:40:07 PM Well, they've been already played a good-sized chunk of GIOMH. (DD and SS in the most recent fall tour, too.)
Plus, they've also played How Could We Still Be Dancin', City Blues and the title track live. Although, honestly, a live GOIMH would be cool. You'd have band backing vocals, for one thing! (And Darian playing a role, perhaps). Title: Re: songs we still wanna hear live from Brian's band Post by: runnersdialzero on April 19, 2010, 05:18:33 PM The GIOMH stuff isn't so much meh writing as it is meh execution (although there are exceptions, obviously).

Title: Re: songs we still wanna hear live from Brian's band Post by: Wirestone on April 20, 2010, 12:09:48 PM I don't think so -- it was in 2000, so a few years before everyone taped stuff like that and put it up immediately.
I recall the host was asking Brian about his favorite album he'd made, and Brian said Love You. And either the host suggested or Brian offered to play something. So he played and sang some of Ding Dang. You couldn't hear his keyboard at first -- they turned it up quickly -- and I think a band member or two might have contributed by the end. A priceless moment. And the host was very, very confused. Reminds me of the BWPS premiere on February 20, 2004. The audience recordings showed up online within a half hour of the end of the show. And there were apparently some people who made fifty-minute phone calls at great expense to folks at RFH to get a sneak peek. :) Title: Re: songs we still wanna hear live from Brian's band Post by: Bicyclerider on April 20, 2010, 01:26:52 PM Brian can't remember the words to God Only Knows. Do you really think he can pull off Feel Flows? Even Carl couldn't remember the lyrics. I think he could read Feel Flows off the teleprompter just as well as he reads all the other songs he does. No more difficult than Surf's Up or Sail on Sailor. Title: Re: songs we still wanna hear live from Brian's band Post by: Andrew G. Doe on April 20, 2010, 01:59:25 PM Reminds me of the BWPS premiere on February 20, 2004. The audience recordings showed up online within a half hour of the end of the show. Which gave rise to the following dialog from the stage during one of the later shows: Jeff - you know, there are people out there with better equipment than we've got up here: this'll be on the internet by tomorrow morning ! Scott - great, I can learn my parts properly ! If looks could kill, we'd've buried him in London...
