Post by: kirkmc- banned on the run on April 04, 2010, 04:49:16 PM
Maybe package it in those cool mini-lp-cd's from Japan...Restore some balance to the legacy...

I could see it if you had the Carnegie Hall show in there...

According to Alan Boyd, there's enough material to do a 2 CD set with a bonus DVD!

Nope. No love for CATP-ST. Uneven production (ie: lazy). Very few tunes-a rushed effort-coulda been a great album. MArcella (production is bad/ shoulda rocked like the live vers.- over-blown Dennis stuff: Cuddle Up's cool tho. Carl's tag on All This Is That is poetry...Um MESS is a nice tune but limp production...Too bad too-they wrecked a great string of records. Coulda been four in a row...But we wouldn't even be having this discussion if the band got to put out the versions of these lp's that they wanted. Thank God the record labels REJECTED those early versions of Sun/ Surf & Holland. Have you seen the original tune Line-up for Sunflower? Yikes.

Well, here's what they submitted at first for Sunflower/Add Some Music:
  1. "Susie Cincinnati"
   2. "Good Time"
   3. "Our Sweet Love"
   4. "Tears In The Morning"
   5. "When Girls Get Together"
   6. "Slip On Through"
   7. "Add Some Music To Your Day"
   8. "Take A Load Off Your Feet"
   9. "This Whole World"
  10. "I Just Got My Pay"
  11. "At My Window"
  12. "Fallin' In Love"

It's not that bad, although I can't for the life of me understand why they wouldn't have put "All I Wanna Do" on there. They already had recorded it and considered putting on album before that list according to Wikipedia.

Let's have the Carnegie Hall set AND a Sunflower to Holland box  AND a box of bonus cuts from that era: Loop De Loop, Walkin', San Miguel, I'm Going Your Way/California Slide, Games Two Can Play, When Girls Get Together, Soulful Old Man Sunshine, Lady, Tears in the Morning (original version), Carnival, Susie Cincinatti, I Just Got Mt Pay, Good Time, Back Home, Sound of Free, Seasons in the Sun, HELP is on the Way, My Solution, Barbara, WIBNTLA, 4th of July. Big Sur (early version), Won't You Tell Me, the cleaned up Awake demo, How Sweet (Charles Lloyd), All Life is One (CL), Out in the Country, Ten Years of Harmony demo, It's a New Day, Rishikesh (CL), TM (CL), Carry Me Home, We Got Love, Hard Times.  Did Bruce demo Brand New Old Movie for the BB? I'm sure I've missed some stuff out and on top of that, we could throw in a few acappella versions, such as Sail on Sailor and Add Some Music - or we could take it to 74 and throw in a possible early River Song (if it exists), California Feelin' (demo), Wishin' You Were Here (Chicago).  I'd chuck in Sweet Mountain too and, just to placate Capitol, a live version of Good Vibrations...

I've realised my error after reading your notes in the Unreleased Albums section at Bellagio 10452. My humble apologies to you and Dada.

These 4 albums have recently been given the japanese mini-lp-cd treatment - individually though...
