One night, fantastically drunk, I had my one and only homosexual experience. I didn't actually have sex with this guy, but I was curious enough to try some... things. I'll spare you the details. What can I say, I'm a just a free spirit? And, as you all should know, there was also this guy Joe Meek that was known for a few things besides being an excellent producer, such as: 1) he used a Ouija board to contact Buddy Holly and other spiritual entities, 2) he was infamous for his homosexuality, with rumors that he would try to pressure young, musically talented teenagers into having sex with him. We also know that besides "Planet Telstar", his music is never heard on U.S. radio anymore, and even that song is a great rarity. Imagine my surprise, to hear the manic chorus of "Have I the Right?" (produced by Meek) as I turned on my car to leave the house where my homosexual rendezvous had happened? Somewhere, Meek was having a laugh, a surprising fact considering that most people probably think Meek is in hell. Yes, "Have I the Right" was a U.S. chart hit in the 60s, but have you ever actually heard it on the radio in the last couple of decades? I'd guess not.
