Title: From The Capitol Vaults Reissued Records Post by: Sangheon on February 08, 2010, 07:08:10 PM These Reissued Records - especially about Beach Boys' reissued records - were cut from analog master ? or digital master ?
This is very important for me. because if these records were cut from digital master, the sound quality is same quality of CD. I want to ask CAPITOL RECORDS but there is not email address or customer service information in the HP.Does anybody know any information about this? Bootleg Smile vinyls may be nice to have, but we still never got a genuine article! (...Dammit!) Title: Re: From The Capitol Vaults Reissued Records Post by: Sangheon on February 10, 2010, 06:50:51 AM Thanks, TheLazenby
I think you may misunderstand the point about this topic. The point I want to know is the sound quality of these records. NOT officailly or unofficially. As you say, if Capitol Record made SMILE vinyl from iTunes "The Beach Boys Play SMiLE" album, the records is official. But the sound quality is equal to MP3. It is meaningless as vinyl sound. I haven't heard them but the reviews have been great. Today and Summer Days are from digital masters. I have them and think they sound much better than the cds. Just my opinion.

Oh, Thanks! Yes, I think so too. If the better sampling rate master was used, vinyle should be better sound than CD. But for vinyle, mastering from analog master tape is best. So, it is best thing that Capitol Record refers to which master was used for the mastering.
