Title: Landylocked in the right speed Post by: Domino on December 23, 2009, 03:40:02 PM I love the songs from The Paley Sessions, also called Landylocked. But the songs seems to go a little to fast and I find it very annoying. If anyone have the songs in the right speed, PLEASE pm me!

I was taking the board's policy on members trying to acquire boots on the board to an extreme. I was only joking. It is frowned upon though. That was just a playful jab at another member of the board. It's since been removed and replaced by your censored version, which looks funnier for some reason. Besides, haven't you guys seen Die Hard? :) No, the inmates have not taken over the asylum. Title: Re: Landylocked in the right speed Post by: punkinhead on December 26, 2009, 02:18:01 PM Perhaps the sped up songs you're referring to are actually Andy Paley's vocals, I believe he sang on Frankie Avalon and a couple others including a version of Soul Searchin, I actually quite like his vocals. The only song I've heard that sounds sped up is Saturday Morning in the City, but it was a fan speeding it up.
Title: Re: Landylocked in the right speed Post by: Jason on December 26, 2009, 02:44:48 PM The speed of the songs was altered on all circulating copies due to the powers that be wanting to make sure who leaked a tape if it got out.
Title: Re: Landylocked in the right speed Post by: rogerlancelot on December 26, 2009, 08:43:29 PM I still really love "You're Still A Mystery" and "Market Place". I think the first one should be on a BB "Anthology" of sorts. Most of what else was good came out on GIOMH (which seems to be unpopular here).
Better band name I came up with: Tent-Like Trouser Bulge It's sort of like a circus in your pants..... >:D Title: Re: Landylocked in the right speed Post by: Ed Roach on December 27, 2009, 05:44:30 PM How about a band called the Futher Muckin' Buck Futters? And I claim my $ 10,000. Title: Re: Landylocked in the right speed Post by: punkinhead on December 28, 2009, 06:06:19 PM Yeah, You're Still a Mystery is the highlight of those sessions, the backing track is vintage Brian Wilson...wonder why the track itself hasnt seen the light of day (legally or illegally)

Title: Re: Landylocked in the right speed Post by: lance on January 26, 2012, 11:37:08 PM I actually did come across a version that was speed corrected, and I downloaded it, however since then my computer has been stolen and I don't remember where it went. I have to say that the bitrate was pretty low on that version though.

So, the speed of "Soul Searchin'" on Gettin' In Over My Head was correct? I always assumed that was slowed down for Brian to add vocals to. But, we all know what happens when one assumes! Haha. I would love to produce a speed corrected version of Landylocked but I have yet to even find it in FLAC. Hopefully, the source is evenly sped-up at one specific rate across the board, so comparison with a few of the other, correct-speed sources will give a reference for how much the whole thing needs to be slowed down. If it varies from song to song, though... Title: Re: Landylocked in the right speed Post by: Aegir on January 30, 2012, 10:28:02 PM hey, it's funny, back in 2009 people respect the rules of the board and didn't do that stupid Pitiful Monkeysh.i.t crap.
Title: Re: Landylocked in the right speed Post by: Camus on January 31, 2012, 04:21:37 PM There is a boot out there called Brian Wilson Goodies (I think) that has the Paley sessions in multiple mixes, including the Andy Paley sung Soul Searchin'. I believe most of these are at the correct pitch though the quality is less than the Landylocked release. I compared Saturday Morning In The City, Soul Searchin' and Gettin' In Over My Head from GIOMH to the Landylocked boot to determine the correct pitch. I'd presumed that the Landylocked boot the songs were all sped up by a uniform speed across all the tracks but it sounds like maybe the speed variation is different from song to song.
