I found it at his website, where there is a video of it of Al performing it in 2004. The single was apparently released on iTunes on 11/17/2009. On Al's website it says the video is produced by Les Chan.
Speaking of Al, does anyone have any news of a release date for Postcard From California? I'm eager to purchase it, though!

BTW, there are also live recordings of Help Me Rhonda and California Girls from 2004 available on itunes and amazon too. I'll probably purchase both, but it's kind of discouraging that the 30 second snippet of California Girls includes some flubbed lyrics. We have more of a chance of seeing a solo album by the members of Spring!!! (oh ha ha ha...)
