Title: Christmas Greetings :) Post by: wallabie on December 05, 2009, 07:13:18 AM Hello Folks,
it´s christmas time isn´t it :). And for this reason we - "The Back Country Connection" - has created the Christmas Song "Snowflakes on the Mountain".... 10 Singers share the lead vocals on this tune. I would be really glad if you could have a listen to it. The song has already some Webradio-Cover and is available at ITunes and stuff :) The Genre is Country Rock...so I think.... And here is the LINK http://soundclick.com/share?songid=8435934 Snowflakes On The Mountain Verse 1: Far away from the city Miles and miles outta town Snowflakes are falling They just keep comin' down Up on the mountain The snow's gettin' thick And everywhere you look It's startin' to stick Everything stops moving The whole world's standing still The snow keeps on falling In the winter chill Chorus: Snowflakes on the mountain They just keep fallin' down A white coat of winter Covers all the ground The whole wide world is quiet It's such a wondrous sight Sparkling in the darkness A mountain top silent night Verse 2: The pine trees are all white Their branches full of snow Our little road's covered But we've no place to go We'll just stay at home And sit next to the fire As the snow keeps falling And the drifts get higher We'll pass the night Cuddled up in the fire's glow The two of us together And enjoy the snow Chorus: Snowflakes on the mountain They just keep fallin' down A white coat of winter Covers all the ground The whole wide world is quiet It's such a wondrous sight Sparkling in the darkness A mountain top silent night Outro: We want to wish you a Merry Christmas... ...Merry Christmas to all We want to wish you a Merry Christmas... ...Merry Christmas to all... Title: Re: Christmas Greetings :) Post by: the captain on December 05, 2009, 07:27:26 AM To warn you up-front, I don't really like Christmas music (or Christmas, frankly). That said ... nice. I like the basic track quite a bit, and the melody is pleasant. I'd love to see more use of all those voices, rather than mostly in succession, together in harmony. And the guitar solo tone didn't fit the track's style, to my ears: rawk meets Spector. But those are a grumpy f*cker's personal hang-ups. This is cool. Good job. Oh, and one other thing I really do like: when multiple voices are used, and you can hear their individual character, it really can make a more interesting listen. This does that.
Title: Re: Christmas Greetings :) Post by: wallabie on December 05, 2009, 08:33:28 AM Thank you Luther...
yeah, my Co-Producer said the same thing about the Guitar... but I wanted to have it in because I think it´s cool :) The first demo had some "woom-poop-duh-wah" and some "hum-bub"... "hum-bub"... and so on... because I wanted to do it in a Beach Boys Style, but then we had to go for something else to get some Webradio-Support ... pöööhhhh :(... but I like the way it is... :) Thank you for your opinion Luther, means a lot :) Martin Title: Re: Christmas Greetings :) Post by: the captain on December 05, 2009, 08:53:03 AM I wanted to have it in because I think it´s cool :) The most important part of songwriting / recording / producing. |
