Post by: Jason on February 16, 2006, 02:47:32 PM
I wanna give a shoutout to Ian's band here, I'm listening to the tracks on MySpace and am completely blown away! Have at it for Ian, folks!

Ahh, that stuff's like 3 years old. The new stuff is about a thousand times better.
But thanks, Jason!!!  ;D

We're recording it now!
And I'm doing a CD with my other band, Switchblade Kittens, as well. Their MySpace profile has 3 new tracks on it.

Ian, I hear a lot of Mazzy Star in your arrangements and Rose is almost a dead ringer for Hope Sandoval. Is that deliberate on your part?

Well, my ears don't lie to me, man. I love your sound, it's original. Rose is a great singer and you're a great guitarist. I love the keyboard washes.

Thanks, man, I really appreciate that.
We did it all, she did all the beats and we both did the keyboards.
We both wrote the songs.

I will definitely be a buyer of your CD. Will you be playing anywhere near Philly when you tour?

Don't know yet! In fact, maybe you can hip me to a venue!

The Trocadero has lots of indie bands. Maybe there would be your best bet. I have some buddies on the inside of Cabrini College's radio station, they play lots of indie music, maybe I can get them to play you guys.

Your singer reminds me of Juliana Hatfield.

Ian - Just been listening to the songs on My space - bloody excellent! Really good stuff. Can't wait to hear some more songs. Band looks really cool too.

Ian, that is way better than anything I've yet heard from the BJM.

Great photo of Patricia Morrison by the way. My band supported The Gun Club when she was in them in Leeds in about 84(?). Great band. She then of course joined the SOM who we knew - also a Leeds band - supported them as well, but way before that when they had just released the Alice/Floorshow single.

Good to see she still looks so GREAT!!!! One of my idols.

That's great that you're a Patricia fan! I've been a fan since then, and I was glad to find out that she was a great person and a really good friend to have! She's currently all domestic with her child with Dave Vanian. And touring with the Damned still. Next time I talk with her I'll tell her she has another big fan!  ;D

Thanks so much for checking out my music, I really appreciate it. Can't wait to hear yours!

You should bring some stuff to Philly with you once we get a date set (hint hint, I am starting to get excited about this prospect).

After May?  If it's after the first week of May, forget my comment about only being able to meet on a Saturday.

Saturday is still best for me -- cheaper plane flights and less time off of work.  Plus I figure most of us have weekends free.  Do you REALLY want to hang on a Monday night?

Here's a great way to tick my wife off but justify the trip.  My birthday is June 23, and that's a Friday.  We could do it then and I could say it's for my brithday!  But heck, for her birthday she's going to a retreat that weekend to scrapbook with 50 other women, so what could she say?

Weekends are cool, I'm just trying to make it easier by saying I have less preference.  Since it's still winter semester I pretty much get one day a week off.  You know I'd be happy to see that birthday suit any day of the week.

No one should have to see my birthday suit ever.

Well, do you want to see a bunch of naked male nerds in a swimming pool together?

Eeewww.....

(assuming that we won't be getting many ladies as they are all out the country)
