Title: Brian at RRHF 1987
Post by: Autotune on October 14, 2009, 01:38:48 PM
Brian sang a bit of On Broadway while introducing Lieber and Stoller. Apparently Seymour Stein was impressed enough to approach him on a record contract. Now... has anyone heard Brian's rendition of that song at the RR Hall of Fame?

Wasn't at the actual R&RHoF - it was at the induction dinner at the Waldorf-Astoria hotel in New York City.

saw a snippet of it on a television report at that time.  Brian stood at the podium and sang a line or two accapella. I don't recall anything particularly stellar about the performance, but I guess Seymour did like it...

To be fair, Andrew, there wasn't a RRHOF in 87 -- at least not in building form. That didn't exist until the 90s.
