The Smiley Smile Message Board

I just wanted to hear what everyone's new sources, whether it's BrianWilson.com or beachboyscentral.com or whatever...where do you get your latest BW/BB news?

I myself just read this board....  ;D

Same here, or a Google search every once in a while. I go to Brian's site just to look at the message board; I don't really look at the news there.

Oh, and Brian's Twitter. I look at that every couple days hoping for an update.

A few mentions about a possible reunion a few weeks ago on some of the 'Mike and Bruce BB's related stories but they have stopped as of late. Various concerned parties must have been told to clam up.

A long while ago I set up Google Alerts under the specified words/terms "Brian Wilson" and "Smile", this sends through emails to me with links to newspaper articles around the world which have both the specified words/terms ... "brian wilson" and "smile" ... its pretty good but you just have to sit there deleting all the ones about the baseball playing guy and some ex British politician ... I get about 10 Google Alerts per day.

The BB/BW websites don't give news, they give opinions and occasionally knowledge ... you have to choose your websites well so that you get the "quality" opinions and knowledge and then you sometimes have to sort out the opinions from the knowledge!

Once I found this board, I don't go anywhere else!! Most of the Beach Boys/Brian Wilson sights don't tell me anything I don't already know.

Ditto here. If there's anything valid, it turns up here within seconds, so to speak. No need to scour all other sources. That aside, which other spot can boast about the number of special guests that we do have here?

Whenever I check this board I always silently pray that the top post reads: "Smile Box Set is Coming!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" or  "The News you've all been waiting for: Smile Box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" or some such. Just typing these hypothetical topic names gets my heart racing!

Please if you are ever the first person to relay this piece of information you give the post a suitably ecstatic title. Lots of exclamation marks will suffice!

I use Google alerts: I also have a few contacts and moles. Failing that, I make it up.  ::)

I find beachboys.com very irritating, as it posts every single item that even makes a passing reference to The Beach Boys.

Try expanding the alert to include "-baseball" and the like - that heads off a lot of rubbish at the pass.

I check this board, and the "European" (also called "Dutch") board, which address has recently been changed - now it's http://www.brianwilsonfans.com/board (http://www.brianwilsonfans.com/board).  :)

Endless Summer Quarterly is a great source for information/history/commentary and often has a "new release" of someone from Beach Boys nation that I've not heard about.
