Title: TV Alert Post by: c-man on July 28, 2009, 05:32:26 AM The Beach Boys (Mike, Bruce, Scott, John, etc.) MAY be appearing this Thursday (7/30) on the early morning show "Fox And Friends" (Fox News Network). IF they do, they MAY be performing a rarely-performed-live song. Maybe.
Title: Re: TV Alert Post by: The Heartical Don on July 28, 2009, 05:49:38 AM The Beach Boys (Mike, Bruce, Scott, John, etc.) MAY be appearing this Thursday (7/30) on the early morning show "Fox And Friends" (Fox News Network). IF they do, they MAY be performing a rarely-performed-live song. Maybe. That is a moral problem. I hate Fox intensely. What's a man to do? ??? Title: Re: TV Alert Post by: The infamous Baldwin Organ on July 28, 2009, 06:28:27 AM C-man, could you please clarify what you mean by MAY? Is this just a rumor, or is there some truth in it? Thank you.
Title: Re: TV Alert Post by: Aegir on July 28, 2009, 08:13:14 AM Yeah, I don't want to wake up at six AM just to watch a morning talk show for three hours and then be disappointed.

I like to hit the Summer Shack first for some fried clams and cold beer, then Mike & Bruce...... Title: Re: TV Alert Post by: Alex on July 28, 2009, 12:04:08 PM Maybe they'll do Cabin Essence!! Though I don't think a song like that would jive well with the "angry white conservative male" Fox crowd.

I would have loved to have seen that one on TV! The YouTube video sounded great. Scott, I hope you guys will do I'm So Young at Humphreys in San Diego on Sept 25. And for any Smiley Smile message board members who have not seen the current Mike and Bruce Beach Boys, under the musical direction of Scott Totten, all I can say is ... don't pass up your next opportunity to do so! The band sounds great, both vocally and instrumentally, and they've expanded the set list with some cool stuff. I really was going to wake up at 5:30AM too!!!! Sadly, I still have to wake up at 5:30AM tomorrow...for a trip to the dentist's office. Fotunately, my dentist is my brother-in-law, so he should'nt torture me TOO much. Still, a 5:30 wakeup time would be more bearable if the point of it was a Beach Boys TV appearance! I see what you meant now, but it was the planned event that I was enthusiastic about, not the fact that it didn't happen, just like the planned and greatly anticipated release of Smile, which of course didn't materialize, deflating everyone's enthusiasm (for a very, very long time. Still hasn't achieved closure, IMO and many others') :( Title: Re: TV Alert Post by: The Heartical Don on July 30, 2009, 12:06:35 AM I have no idea what you're talking about (maybe I'm just dense). ??? I will never forget this: after the delayed release of the Pet Sounds Sessions Box Set, MOJO magazine (then the best of the world, now downgraded to a terribly populist average rag) in 1997 had in its 'soon to be released' section: a CD entirely devoted to the genesis and completion of Good Vibrations, and a 3-CD box titled 'The Smile Sessions'. That column was very reliable (I don't recall any false announcements), but as we all know, this was not to come true. Very sad. Title: Re: TV Alert Post by: Dave in KC on July 31, 2009, 11:04:57 AM Well I did see The Beach Boys on Bill O'Reilly's show last night. They looked great! Sounded just as good. Bill named them one of America's "Patriots."
Title: Re: TV Alert Post by: The Shift on July 31, 2009, 11:14:56 AM MOJO magazine (then the best of the world, now downgraded to a terribly populist average rag)... Agree! Typical Emap/Bauer Pub. c*ck-up - take a great product and wreck it. Do you read Uncut? Alan Jones does a great job editing that - it began to surpass Mojo about 2 years ago, IMHO. Title: Re: TV Alert Post by: Aegir on August 01, 2009, 09:05:26 AM Oh, I'm not so upset I didn't actually see that on TV. That's a really old video -- in it, Kowalski and Farmer are still in the band.
Title: Re: TV Alert Post by: catman on August 03, 2009, 01:37:19 AM Heartical Don and Alex- Yeah, the beach boys should play on another network for just those reasons alone...That would be so artistic...
"Cabinessence" can only be understood by the mainstream networks that are economically illiterate, race baiting and promoting of government spending that our children's children will have to pay for...(spending 4X more than the previous administration they criticized justly) I dont see how any person that holds the US constitution and the rights of man in high regard could possibly like cabinessence...those stupid conservatives...I mean they gave us Bach,Handel, and Mozart but that stuff is not "progressive" enough... Angry white conservatives, like me, dont like art music. that is why i am on this site. that is why I love smile and watch Fox. I hate art...
