Right from the start in 1969/70 when Rieley walked into Brian's healthfood shop (Radiant Radish) and soon after that into the lives of the Beach Boys becoming their blancman(a)ge(r). So where DID he come from? The answer was revealed early on in a TV-show, that was aired october 10'th, 1969. But we didn't take notice back then: "Detective (John Cleese): Are you mad Angus: No, Sir Detective: Well that's a relief. 'Cos if you were, your story would be less plausible. (detective brings out photograph of blancmange) Now then, do you recognise this? Angus: (with a squeak of fear) Oh yes. That's the one that ate my Mary! Detective: Good. His name's Riley... Jack Riley... He's the most rare of criminals... a blancmange impersonator and cannibal Angus: But what about the 48.000.000 kilts and the Galaxy of Andromeda? Detective: I'm afraid that's just one of his stories. You must understand that a blancmange impersonator and cannibal has to use some pretty clever stories to allay suspicion. A: Then you mean... D: Yes A: But... D: How? A: Yes D: Well... A: Not? D: I'm afraid so A: Why? D: Who knows? A: D'you think? D: Could be A: But... D: I know." So was Rieley really Superman? IMO - yes he must have been for all he did FOR the Beach Boys - artistically, if not commercially. But he paved the way for that too... Title: Re: Was 'Jack Rieley really Superman?'
