Post by: DAMAGED on June 23, 2009, 12:29:09 PM I recently picked up a BB book on ebay for $5. "The Authorized Biography of The Beach Boys" by Byron Theiss. It's from the late 70's & actually has a fair bit of information about SMiLE. I'm considering scanning the relevant pages & sharing them here. That's not a breach for board rules is it??

The 1st printing of that book (white cover) had interesting artwork that was omitted from the considerably thinner reprint (yellow). Just FYI. He's the author of the book "How Deep is the Ocean?" as well as many other books. But he is perhaps best known as the founder of Crawdaddy. I THINK he has Alzheimer's disease or something like that. Ah, ok. That's bad news. I wish him well. Title: Re: Used and out of print books on our favorite subjects..... Post by: MBE on June 24, 2009, 03:41:05 AM He was nice enough to send me a letter when I wrote him. It is too bad, but I think it is delayed brain damage from a motorcycle accident.
BTW I like the Priess book a lot as I posted on your thread about it. He died in a car crash a few years ago and was also kind when I contacted him. Title: Re: Used and out of print books on our favorite subjects..... Post by: DonnaK on June 24, 2009, 07:50:43 PM http://paulwilliams.com/
