Title: Your ideal BBs setlist Post by: Alex on June 19, 2009, 08:11:59 AM I know this had been done before :deadhorse :deadhorse :deadhorse :deadhorse :deadhorse :deadhorse :deadhorse :deadhorse :deadhorse :deadhorse ,
but what is the ideal setlist you'd love to hear/see in a BBs/BB-related concert, be it Brian, Mike and Bruce, Al, or any historical or imagined incarnation of the group? I'd like to see any just about incarnation of the group do my setlist...but only if they do it well... Title: Re: Your ideal BBs setlist Post by: Eric Aniversario on June 19, 2009, 10:52:48 AM I may have time to type out a setlist later, but the setlist would include at least 120 songs with three intermissions!
Title: Re: Your ideal BBs setlist Post by: phirnis on June 19, 2009, 11:38:08 AM Alex - any setlist that includes both Roller Skating Child and Anna Lee The Healer is a good setlist. :-D
Title: Re: Your ideal BBs setlist Post by: PrayForSurf on June 19, 2009, 02:22:24 PM I'll respond to a revised version of the question - "If you won a contest and could select 5 songs that the Beach Boys would perform live, what would they be?"
For me: 1. Little Girl I Once Knew 2. Break Away 3. She Knows Me Too Well 4. Wake The World 5. You're So Good To Me (not enough time to construct a 30 song set list ...) Title: Re: Your ideal BBs setlist Post by: Sheriff John Stone on June 19, 2009, 04:04:16 PM The setlist that Mike & Bruce have been using for the last couple of years is hard to beat.

Title: Re: Your ideal BBs setlist Post by: TdHabib on June 19, 2009, 08:08:05 PM I've contended that a setlist like RobMac posted, Brian's stuff from 2001, 2002, is by far the best setlist anybody could hope for. Maybe another Love You era tune or even another Dennis thing. But Brian has said he gets sad doing "Forever," and tries to keep it off the set so I guess not.

That was the exact set of a Pet Sounds show from 2002 in Chicago that I saw. As far as hitting the highlights from Brian's entire career and including the crowd-pleasing hits, that is damn near close to a perfect set. You should see him on the Britain board when Bruce is posting. Title: Re: Your ideal BBs setlist Post by: Eric Aniversario on June 20, 2009, 12:55:00 AM Lu - You know they wrote the book! Title: Re: Your ideal BBs setlist Post by: Awesoman on June 20, 2009, 01:24:11 AM I don't have an ideal setlist but I have to give props to Mike and Bruce as in recent years they have dusted off some old chestnuts I never thought they'd play like "Getcha Back", "Forever" (sung by Uncle Jesse! :afro), "Good Timin'", "It's OK"...even "'Til I Die". Guess even Mike got a little tired of only singing "409" all the time.

Title: Re: Your ideal BBs setlist Post by: Menace Wilson on June 20, 2009, 10:08:27 AM Okay, it would be a small club, late evening, oceanside somewhere like Lahaina, and of course all of the original members are somehow alive and getting along. Oh, and The Wrecking Crew are also there as backing musicians. ;D
