...I liked it when I saw at both BWPS shows I saw that he wore the most elemental types of leisure clothing - a simple sweater, some kind of tight training trousers (Adidas I guess), and ditto sneakers. No ambition to impress at all, more like: 'dress less to impress'.

Exactly! Sometimes he does a little shuffle too... very touching. Although I also like his smart 'black dress code' from the mid'90s, with the Ray-Ban Wayfarers... very handsome.

I like the look he was sporting around 1978: relatively slender, full beard, medium length hair, Adidas jump suits.

I kind of like Brian's style. It's casual without being tacky (Mike, are you listening?), and it looks like Brian's just in his regular clothes, not styled or told what to wear. Brian's clothes are easy but not too "out there," just like they always have been. And I think the track pants make him look younger, actually.

The hair is a different matter. Tousled is better than slicked back or helmet-y, but I suppose either one is better than a perpetual baseball cap.

When did Mike stop his turban craze? He'd be rather cool now with that, given Obama's Caïro speech. It could make him hip again.

Stopped wearing it when he was sued for trademark infringement by Sam the Sham.

Those are exceptions, though. His outfit of choice at the time was white pants, Keds, and a t-shirt. Not exactly the pinnacle of high fashion. That's what I mean when I say he hasn't really changed, although he does wear rather expensive polo shirts.

I notice it is 8:22:07 PM on that clock (assuming he did not work that early in the morning). If we extrapolate the length of his hair and his sideburns, and weigh in the length of sellotape used on that roll, as well as a super magnification of his wrist watch, which no doubt had a date function too - could we possibly determine which track he was working on in that picture?

Well noticed. He had a career in reverse, in some ways. From epitome of cool to adult child. From utter sophistication (Pet Sounds) to THE punk album of the seventies (Love You). From arranger, composer, producer, AND family man to a bed-ridden toddler.

I often look at recent pics of Brian and I'm like, "No way, that's not the guy from the Beach Boys..." There are times when his old self shines through and you can totally tell it's Brian, but a lot of the time it's so hard to believe it's still him. I can't really explain it, but you get what I mean. I still think he's handsome though, always has been and always will be :D

Yeah at times he's a shadow of his former self, but then sometimes when he's feeling good you can totally tell it's crazy Brian Wilson  ;D

I remember hearing the interview portions with Brian on the BW On Tour DVD, and his promiscuous swearing is a perfect reminder of the old days. Countless listens to bootlegs teach us that Brian had quite the mouth back in the day, and still does now.

Of course the blueboarders went completely insane over that sh*t.

I thought the same thing...he dropped some f-bombs in the Smile doc too, during the sessions with Van Dyke and Darian.  "People are going to get the foda off on it."  Awesome.

That reminds me, I really wish we had the dirty version of "Dance, Dance, Dance" that you can hear them messing around with during the vocal session.

What I'm wondering is why the hell he corrects himself and says "gosh-darn" in Beautiful Dreamer? I mean, c'mon, this is the guy who in the early 60s called a 14 yeqr old Dennis a "fucking prick", according to Peter Ames Carlin.

Assuming of course Dennis was 14 in the early 60s, which history has disproven in the last 64 and a half years. :)

Or in 1959 or 60, sorry if my math was slightly off  :P
