Title: Possible ESQ East Coast Convention in early September Post by: ESQ Editor on May 14, 2009, 11:44:33 AM Hello-
I wanted to let you know about the ESQ East Coast Convention that I'm working on putting together with the help of Howie Edelson. I'm targeting a late August early September timeframe. I'm working on bringing in a number of special guests. I'd like to gauge everyone's interest level, etc. It will be a weekend jammed packed with events: Friday: Meet & greet and mini-concert at bar/restaurant (9pm - midnight) Saturday: Record Convention with meet & greet, q&a, photograph & autograph session (7am -3pm) Saturday evening: Benefit Concert for the Cornelius Animal Shelter with meet & greet, q&a, photograph & autograph session with performers (4pm - 6pm) Saturday: Meet & greet and mini-concert at bar/restaurant (9pm - midnight) Things are moving in a very positive direction, and I'm encouraged by the feedback and level of interest expressed. There will be surprise guests, some of the usual suspects, etc. What does everyone think? The dates will probably be Friday, September 11 and Saturday September 12. It will be held in Cornelius, NC. Cornelius is about 20 minutes North of Charlotte, and about the distance North of the Charlotte Douglas Airport. There's plenty of great restaurants, hotels, etc. If the 9-11 thing freaks you out a bit come in a day earlier. Here's an outline of the weekend: Friday Night show in small club/bar (9pm-midnight): Meet & Greet with Special Guests Saturday Record Convention (7am-3pm): With scheduled special guests, speakers, and autograph/photo session Saturday Afternoon - main concert (4pm-6pm): with special guests appearing onstage Saturday night show in small club/bar (9pm-midnight): Meet & Greet with Special Guests I'm still building the list of special guests, etc., and I'm pleased to say that I'm receiving a wonderful reaction from Beach Boys historians, colleagues, musicians, etc. This will be bigger and better than any previous ESQ/Beach Boys-related convention anywhere… Title: Re: Possible ESQ East Coast Convention in early September Post by: donald on May 18, 2009, 11:28:45 AM Charlotte.
