Title: Smiley Smile-Little Pad Question Post by: Surfing Jorge on April 28, 2009, 11:49:47 AM On the original vinyl issue of Smiley Smile, the ending of Little Pad ends at once with no fade. It's one of my favorite tracks on the album. Yet on the CD reissue from the early 90's the ending fades which honestly kinda bugs me compared to the original ending. Does the most recent two-fer release of Smiley Smile/Wild Honey or the iTunes version have that same fade or the original ending? Would love to have a CD with that original ending but don't want to spend money on it if it's the same thing.
Title: Re: Smiley Smile-Little Pad Question Post by: Eric Aniversario on April 28, 2009, 12:12:00 PM I think it also has the same fade, maybe even longer. The 1990 twofer has it at 2:32 while the 2001 has it at 2:33.

the French Smiley that came with a bunch of bonus tracks inc. Y're Welcome and Cantina and Dada and Worms; The Original Master Recordings cough.. slipper... cough... which I think must have used a 67 tape or vinyl issue as its source and claims to be stereo. Both had that fade you mention but it's only in the last second or two, right at the end - you get to hear every note. |
