Yngwie's main influence was Paganini himself. I did not know that. Although I can't stand Malmsteen's efforts myself, I can see why you wrote this. By the way, I helped a friend translate 'Classical Music For Dummies'. I recall the stories about Paganini in concert... candles blew out mysteriously, and young ladies fainted or/and experienced spontaneous orgasms.
