Title: The Beach Boys Official Myspace Page.....
Post by: KokoMoses on February 18, 2009, 06:34:44 PM
.... has suddenly gotten really cool!

You can listen to almost all their albums/collections in their entierty!

It's great to be able to listen to the Keepin The Summer Alive/Beach Boys 85 two-fer while at work!!!! (seriously)

You can also listen to Hawthorne California, which is out-of-print I thinki!!!

Don't know how long it will stay this way, but it's damm nice!

Hey, that's neat!

What I find really interesting is that there is a hit counter for the amount of times each song has been played.  I'm on the Sunflower/Surf's Up 2-fer, and I see these interesting results:

This Whole World-257 plays
Add Some Music To Your Day-  1,364 plays
Long Promised Road- a whopping 6,840 plays!
Student Demonstration Time- 51 plays (hahaha)
Surf's Up- Strangely, only 733 plays

Of course, I'm not sure if some songs have been up there longer than others, so maybe these statistics are skewed...

Is this only for people in the US??

I only get a few tracks, like GOK and WIBN

I tried this with a UK proxy and I can see an artist mix but most of the songs wont play on it. Where exactly can you decide what you want to play?

I also see listings like "sweet honey by the beech boys" ????

for me it is in the window upper right. i can scroll down thru the pics of the lp's. a lot of these are the 2fers. after selecting a lp the songs appear the the right of the lp cover pic. click on song and it starts playing. a few lp's list songs but are not available to play just yet.

I believe it is only for US users for now. Myspace has started doing this to a lot of bands...most bands that I've seen on there, in fact. Their aim is to put every band's discography online for users to listen to and add to their myspace profiles. It's been this way for a month or two now. Very cool!
