Title: Brian's autobio Wouldn't It Be Nice: can I trust the PetSounds/Smile chapters? Post by: The Song Of The Grange on January 31, 2009, 03:31:45 PM I am reading the Brian autobiography. I have been warned that it is not a trustworthy source because of the Dr. Landy thing. I am wondering if folks think the chapters on the sixties are a good source or not. It seems that the Smile chapter is based on the Jules Siegel's Goodbye Surfing Hello God! article.
Has Van Dyke written about the 1966 experience? I'd love to hear more of his side of the story. Title: Re: Brian's autobio Wouldn't It Be Nice: can I trust the PetSounds/Smile chapters? And then trust that Todd Gold stole that part from the somewhere else you read it.

I knew it was sketch, but I didn't know it was this bad. I knew something was fishy when I started noticing lots of things I had read verbatim someplace else. Good to know.
