Title: Beach Boys Rarities
Post by: TimeToGetAlone on January 30, 2009, 07:59:32 PM
I came across these videos on Youtube.  Can anyone tell me which songs are featured on these?  Some of them are obvious but others I'm not so sure about.

Thanks a lot.  Seems like I knew more than I was aware of.  I thought the East Meets West intro was great but I guess I hadn't heard enough to recognize it was from that song.  I also learned that Carry Me Home has both Dennis and Blondie singing together.

I wrote to the guy who did this video who lives in Spain. I asked him if I could find the cd with this music on it, he's working on third part of Rarities now!

After asking him if he'd do it, Zanderwoo has obliged and put up the whole Had to Phone Ya backing track:

I just became a bigger fan of the song. I love the string section especially without words.

I agree.  As much as I already liked the song, hearing just the instrumental track makes me dig it so much more.  If HTPY had never been released and all we had was this backing track, I'd think it was a lost SMiLE tune!

I apologize for bringing this up but considering my question doesn't really merit its own thread and that all I'm doing is muddling one of my earlier ones.  I was just wondering who was given credit for writing "East Meets West".  I've been looking around and can't seem to find an answer (it could be my inept research skills, but I digress). :afro

From my recollection it's Bob Gaudio.

EDIT: Just checked, it's Bob Crewe as well as Bob Gaudio.
