Title: Buddy Holly releases
Post by: Fun Is In on January 28, 2009, 02:59:50 PM
To coincide with the 50th anniversay of "the day the music died" at Mason City, Iowa, there are two new Buddy Holly releases coming out this week including a 2 CD rarities set "Down The Line" which is supposed to feature the first legal release of many recordings and a 3 CD "Memorial Collection".

Has anyone heard them yet?

I've never heard the Vigotone set, called "What You Been a Missin'" I think.

I don't remember Brian saying a lot about Buddy, but I'd think he'd just about have to have been influenced by him.

I got them both and they sound pretty good. The undubbed Apartment Tapes sound excellent. IIRC, a variation of the Complete box is supposed to come out also later in  the year.
