Title: Re: Dennis Wilson BBC radio documentary 12/27/08 Post by: CarCrazyCutie on December 28, 2008, 08:50:49 PM It's really great that they did something like that for Dennis (though it did make me cry), you would think the US stations would finally get a clue ::)

Now we know the title of ANOTHER unreleased Brian Wilson song! :) And we know that Dennis wrote more songs that he wasn't given credit for (like YASB). Any ideas which songs these might be? Title: Re: Dennis Wilson BBC radio documentary 12/27/08 Post by: Sheriff John Stone on December 29, 2008, 07:40:54 AM Finally got a chance to listen to this; thanks, Jon, for bringing it to our attention. I thought it was excellent. While it did succeed in bringing attention to Dennis's talents, it was incredibly sad. Maybe tragic is a better word. Of course, I/we already knew the stories, but the list of casualities are, well, it's a tragedy. Dennis, Karen Lamm-Wilson, Shawn Wilson, Murry (he died at only age 55), Brian's story, Carl's early passing, Manson....damn, what an incredible story.

It was thorough, and the interviews were heartfelt. It was the first I'd heard of a suspected embolism. Title: Re: Dennis Wilson BBC radio documentary 12/27/08 Post by: Dove Nested Towers on December 30, 2008, 11:50:00 PM That was an excellent "programme". Leave it to English radio to do a thorough, evocative bio
like this. Bravo! It was chilling to hear that he got a letter from Lynette "Squeaky" Fromme while he was living with Christine McVie saying that Manson was "watching him", and sad to hear Barbara Charren saying with such mournful certitude that his brief association with Manson was one of the two decisive factors in his decline. What a damn shame that they had to meet and become enmeshed together. What a waste. I try to be thankful for what he did do, who he was and the legacy he left. :) :'( Title: Re: Dennis Wilson BBC radio documentary 12/27/08 Post by: scallions on January 01, 2009, 05:34:08 PM :)
