Title: Julia Post by: The Heartical Don on October 17, 2008, 04:06:14 AM what is this? Never heard of it. It's rumored to feature on blegs of a SMiLE show in Germany (Frankfurt 2004).
Title: Re: Julia Post by: phirnis on October 17, 2008, 05:24:55 AM Is this supposed to be a song played at said show? I was there at the Frankfurt Smile concert and I didn't take notice of any song (safe for the Smile set) I hadn't heard before.
Title: Re: Julia Post by: dogear on October 17, 2008, 06:18:46 AM I was there as well - no Julia
Title: Re: Julia Post by: c-man on October 18, 2008, 09:51:14 AM I've got that boot. Really nice packaging. The track entitled "Julia" is actually "Sail On Sailor". Brian dedicates it to Probyn Gregory's friend Julia, hence the title. :) Score one for the bootleggers!

"Half of what I say is meaningless, but I say it just to reach you Julia"....before c-man said it was actually "Sail On, Sailor", I thought maybe Brian covered the Beatles' song. Is that the boot with Brian as some sort of Teletubby, surfing valiantly nevertheless, as the cover? Title: Re: Julia Post by: STE on October 20, 2008, 10:42:09 AM It has a caricature of Brian surfing. Beautiful digipack package, btw. Other songs included are: Come to Hawaii, Little Girl, Get Around. Title: Re: Julia Post by: The Heartical Don on October 20, 2008, 10:58:59 AM It has a caricature of Brian surfing. Soundwise, the live tracks are pretty good but definitely not great. There are some kinda cool artificially-done stereo mixes of a few authentic '60s SMiLE tracks on there, in excellent quality. That and the packaging are the main draws. The caricature of Brian is great. Title: Re: Julia Post by: The Heartical Don on October 20, 2008, 11:35:18 PM It has a caricature of Brian surfing.
