It astounds me how many people write within the quote box when they're quoting others. I just picked a random post.

Now, say I wanted to respond to that in a post. Quoting it would lead me to a form that looks like this:

If I were to say "I've heard it, it's not that special," I would write it after the [/quote]. This is very important! Anything before the [/quote] will be WITHIN the quote box. Here's how not to do it:

It's just a matter of making sure that you start writing after the very last [/quote] sign, that's all. Or alternatively, to make sure you scroll completely down at the right side before starting your comment. Things can't go wrong then.

I'm actually a little confused as to how anyone messes up the use of quotes, to be honest. It isn't rocket science. A solid 95% of my posts are made when I'm drunk, and I can manage.

;D thanks for taking it in the spirit in that it was done! Your original post happens to be spot on, by the way. Perhaps it's that this board allows for quite a lot of hierarchy in quoting... other boards prohibit quoting more than 2 embedded texts. I hope the admins let it stay the way it is here.
