Title: Be true to your school vinyl comp
Post by: wgolly on August 19, 2008, 10:56:29 AM
anyone know what was on this  vinyl compilation from 1982?  it has an interesting cover, comes with a green label, too.  I could never find a track list for this.

thanks

Side 1

Be True To Your School
In The Back Of My Mind
In The Parkin' Lot
Surf Jam
Car Crazy Cutie

Side 2

Amusement Parks U.S.A.
Carl's Big Chance
Custom Machine
Stoked
I'm Bugged At My Ol' Man

It should be noted that someone on the Steve Hoffman board mentioned a tape issue that affects most of Side 2 on their copy.  I have a copy of this on the way myself, so I'll know soon enough...

so, basically the cuts that were lobbed off the 80's issues were on this?  Could you let me know if the stuff on this is in mono,  when you get it?

It is definitely mono.  I had that confirmed from a few sources before I ordered a copy.

I'll have to track down a copy for sure then.

BTW -- this album was allegedly NOT an attempt by Capitol to creating a fake new album by leaving cuts off others; apparently, Brad Elliott convinced Capitol to compile the songs so that fans could get the otherwise out-of-print cuts.

Be sure to get a US pressing!  Mine just came in the mail and sounds terrific.  The poster on the Hoffman board with the side 2 problems has a Canadian pressing so try to avoid those.
