Title: Really Really Weird Remix Contest (win a Casio SK-1 sampler) Post by: simplecarnival on August 06, 2008, 08:35:14 PM Since the song and video received such a favorable response here (http://smileysmile.net/board/index.php/topic,5438.0.html), I thought you might like this.
I'd like to announce the Really Really Weird Remix Contest (http://songsandsonics.com/2008/08/05/really-really-weird-remix-contest/). In the very near future, I will be making the raw tracks for The Simple Carnival's song "Really Really Weird" available for download. If you're a creative remixing kind of person, you can take these original tracks, manipulate them, and turn them into something that sounds nothing like the original song. A panel of judges and I will rank the submissions. The grand prize is one of the instruments that was used in the song, a circuit-bent Casio SK-1 sampler (considered by many to be the holy grail of weird-sounding circuit-bent instruments), plus a Simple Carnival t-shirt and a copy of the album where the song comes from, Girls Aliens Food (http://www.simplecarnival.com/souvenirs.php). There are three runner-up prizes (consisting of the t-shirt and CD) as well. (http://www.simplecarnival.com/images/rrw_contest_1.jpg) Even if you don't win, there's a possibility that your remix might end up on a future Simple Carnival release. You can read all the details here: http://songsandsonics.com/2008/08/05/really-really-weird-remix-contest/ Thanks for reading this far, and hope to hear your remixes soon! http://www.myspace.com/reallyreallyweirdremix Mister Fusty, Heidi Gloom, and Rob Arnold all have remixes you can check out at the above link. Because Mister Fusty is a judge in the contest, he is not eligible to win anything. He knows this, but he went ahead and did a remix anyway. :) Title: Re: Really Really Weird Remix Contest (win a Casio SK-1 sampler) Post by: simplecarnival on September 15, 2008, 04:59:26 PM A new remix is up, this one by Vlayman:
