Title: Potential treasure trove.......just waiting
Post by: beatnickle on July 29, 2008, 07:24:34 AM
Hey people................this is a bit unusual.  In a small town near where I live their exists a record store.  This record store  closed ......................25 YEARS AGO.
It has been sitting there untouched for all this time.
I recently took some photos from the glass door entrance. There is a rare record by a group called "The Buggs" (called "Beetle Beat" released in "64) hanging on the wall.  It is the closest lp to you in the second highest row against the wall. Apparently they were one of the Beatle rip off groups of the early sixties from Nebraska.
Anyway............ no telling what could be in there.
I know the owner. He inherited it from his father. He is a nice guy but not the brightest bulb. He said he would let me in sometimes to poke around and buy some stuff.
Here are some photos. Scroll down and you'll see them first thing

If anyone in the south east is interested I might could hook you up.

Might be a collector's dream come true - unfortunately a bit far from Germany.

Wow! this is pretty cool.  Let us know what you find if you get that tour.   In looking at photo #1 I could identify the "South Pacific" soundtrack LP  (lower row on wall) and, I think perhaps , "It's A Beautiful Day" (middle of top row on wall). I'm also taking a guess that is Sinatra's forehead in the cover of the lp (in the upper row far right of the bin).  What is the LP directly right of "South Pacific"??

Hey Mikee.................I discovered that the LP to the right of South Pacific is by " The Four Lads" and its called "Breezin' Along" and after some investigating I found its a mid fifties release and can be had now as part of a twofer.
