I have never heard any FC track besides Beach Baby.  But I must speak up -- that is an homage and no ripoff.  In fact, IMO it is one of the best tracks from 1974 and it is exactly what the BB could have and should have sounded like in 1976, not 15 BO or MIU, if they wanted to court the "fun'n'sun" crowd.  Totally current yet timeless and classic.

Just had to speak up to defend that track, which gets bashed by BB fans (and even if memory serves Mike Love himself).  MUCH better than the rep.

Isn't that another Tony Burrows-sung cut, he of Edison Lighthouse?

I believe both songs are on a Varese Bubblegum comp that spotlights Burrows> Worth checking out ...

The band overall is the definition of "studio hackdom" (I bought their LP, I'm entitled to my opinion), but heard in  the extended version (album track), Beach Baby is indeed a very fine tribute to our favorite band.
