Title: Re: Mike's Car Collection. Post by: joe_blow on June 01, 2008, 10:44:09 PM Interesting article. If we all just gave up one car, it would be a completely different world! Is it me or is the Lovester sucking in the belly in that pic?

Name's Jason, nice to meetcha. Dig that photo on the In Concert album from your year of Mike Love with no shirt. Totally keeping the belly sucked up. Completely kidding, but seriously, Mike's been a pudge for at least 40 years. Title: Re: Mike's Car Collection. Post by: Ron on June 02, 2008, 05:49:27 AM Interesting article. I haven't really seen enough of Mike's house, but I reckon Al has a pretty nice house Title: Re: Mike's Car Collection. Post by: John on June 02, 2008, 07:35:20 AM Hey, Mike's claiming credit for "Don't Worry Baby" there:
""He [Christian] was a great lyricist. I really liked what he did, especially with 'Don't Worry, Baby.' He wrote a lot of the words to 'Don't Worry, Baby' and I wrote some of it with my cousin, Brian,"" Title: Re: Mike's Car Collection. That wasn't one of the songs he sued for, was it? Interesting to note though is the fact that from memory it credits DWB as "B. Wilson/R. Christian/M. Love" on that NASCAR album by Mike+Bruce+David. Thanks for pointing that out John, initially I didn't even bother to read the article!! Title: Re: Mike's Car Collection. Post by: Mr. Wilson on June 02, 2008, 08:18:14 AM Thanks for posting the link..!! Enjoyed the story + pics..

Title: Re: Mike's Car Collection. Post by: MBE on June 02, 2008, 06:21:55 PM I like the article since it doesn't cover the same old ground. I like his stories about the Love family.
Title: Re: Mike's Car Collection. Post by: Aegir on June 02, 2008, 08:38:09 PM Hey, Mike's claiming credit for "Don't Worry Baby" there: Aside from that, Mike didn't take credit for writing a lot of songs. I was expecting him to say, "I wrote the lyrics to Good Vibrations and Kokomo" but he only mentioned a few that he wrote.""He [Christian] was a great lyricist. I really liked what he did, especially with 'Don't Worry, Baby.' He wrote a lot of the words to 'Don't Worry, Baby' and I wrote some of it with my cousin, Brian,"" Title: Re: Mike's Car Collection. Post by: Zack on June 03, 2008, 11:52:06 AM I thought Mike was broke with all those ex-wives. How the hell does he afford all those cars?
Title: Re: Mike's Car Collection. Post by: Aegir on June 03, 2008, 12:00:41 PM Um, he's a member of a popular band that constantly tours?
His wife is a pretty successful fashion designer, too. Title: Re: Mike's Car Collection. Post by: Pretty Funky on June 03, 2008, 03:14:27 PM That MG must be a tight fit. I have a 1970 MG and at 5' 11'' it is not the most comfortable. Mike at well over 6 feet ( and 67 years old! ) must find it a squeeze.

How would it be a completely different world? Just a reference to what Mike has said about TM....does anyone else think Bill Jackson went riding with Mike recently? Bill sure can inspire a good lyric! Title: Re: Mike's Car Collection. Post by: Pretty Funky on June 04, 2008, 02:47:48 AM 'Well I've been thinkin bout'... the same thing.
