Title: Carl and the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness Post by: mikeyj on May 07, 2008, 07:11:05 AM I was looking at Carl's wikipedia page, and it says that he was a student of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness. (see: here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Carl_Wilson) and here (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Movement_of_Spiritual_Inner_Awareness)). Anyway, I kept looking around on the net and came across a few interesting things. At this link (www.sallykirkland.com/pages/ministry.html) it talks about Carl and then on this page (http://www.sallykirkland.com/pages/radio.html) it talks about how Jesus Garcia (an actor) sung Carl's songs on some radio show. But the most interesting thing I thought was this page (http://www.ndh.org/template.php3?ID=311).. it says Carl wrote "Where I Belong" for John-Roger, who is the founder of the Movement of Spiritual Inner Awareness.
I have never heard anything about this before and I don't know if any of this is true, but would be interested if anyone knows anything more about it? Why do all good songs have to be about weird hippy crap? |
