There are tons of Beach Boys tribute bands. Papa Doon Run Run and the Surf City All Stars are the most well-known because they have people who've played with the Beach Boys before, but Beach Boys tribute bands can be found everywhere.

I just googled name of band.. they have a myspace site.. Interesting info..i believe that the guitar player is the new guy in Al Jardine"s band + billy Hinsche jams with them..guitar player"s name is jared..they sound really good.... As far as many tribute bands doin BB music.. Not aware of that.. Never hear of tribute bands here in California.. In fact just gettin a bunch of guys together to play + sing Bb music isnt easy..My experience with it is..Most people dont feel they can do it justice...But thats just my experience..

Good Vibrations are Jeff Celentano and the guys from Tripsitter.

Chris Farmer also has a new thing going with the "The OC Beach Band" . . .

The Sands of Time did one.
In Germany die Strandjungs (=Beach Boys) were quite popular about 15 years ago - they specialized in German versions of BB classics.

What about the Surfsiders and their legendary tribute LP? That one's a classic ;)

Gidea Park?

Remember seeing them playing on a sixties revival show somewhere in the early 90-ies with several well- and lesser-known groups, and they did one huge set with Beach Boys hits. Pretty nice, although seeing 6 to 7 musicians dressed like they were going to the beach was almost embarassing. Part of the image I guess...

Sons Of The Beaches - excellent album: CD reissue has bonus tracks.

Yup... and the CD with the bonus track I 'engineered' (that is, I set the level on the (admittedly broadcast quality) cassette recorder, held the mike up and pressed the record key  :)).

absolutely, in a sense anyone who is influenced by the Beach Boys up to the late 70s can be a Tribute Band.

"Hot Love" by T. Rex uses a similar bassline to California Girls. So my favourite BB tribute band is T. Rex

In recent years, UK dance-rock outfit Kasabian had a hit with "LSF" - and the verses on this sound terribly like the verses in Kokomo (I think).

Graham's on the drivetime slot at Magic 105.4 these days. No idea what Rick's up to but he turns up at every Stomp Convention.
