Title: What is G I 3 ? Post by: Daniel S. on April 23, 2008, 05:18:08 PM One of the lines at the beginning of 'Live With Me' by the Rolling Stones, Mick Jagger sings that he takes G I 3? What the hell is that?
Title: Re: What is G I 3 ? Post by: Roger Ryan on April 24, 2008, 01:37:08 PM It's mentioned in the early Joy Division song "Warsaw" as well (actually, "G-1-3" which could be completely different!). No idea what it means.
EDIT: Okay, just checked the Joy Division lyric and it's actual "3-1-G". Sorry about the confusion...move along. Title: Re: What is G I 3 ? Post by: 1-1-wonderful on April 24, 2008, 01:42:45 PM I got nasty habits, I take tea at three
Yes, and the meat I eat for dinner Must be hung up for a week My best friend, he shoots water rats And feeds them to his geese Don'cha think there's a place for you In between the sheets? Come on now, honey We can build a home for three Come on now, honey Don't you wanna live with me? And there's a score of harebrained children They're all locked in the nursery They got earphone heads they got dirty necks They're so 20th century Well they queue up for the bathroom 'Round about 7:35 Don'cha think we need a woman's touch to make it come alive? You'd look good pram pushing Down the high street Come on now, honey Don't you wanna live with me? Whoa, the servants they're so helpful, dear The cook she is a whore Yes, the butler has a place for her Behind the pantry door The maid, she's French, she's got no sense She's wild for Crazy Horse And when she strips, the chauffeur flips The footman's eyes get crossed Don'cha think there's a place for us Right across the street Don'cha think there's a place for you, In between the sheets? I thought he was singing about some drug like GHB. Title: Re: What is G I 3 ? Post by: donald on April 25, 2008, 05:59:01 AM British humor. A nasty habit would be something so extreme as taking tea an hour early.
Title: Re: What is G I 3 ? Post by: the captain on April 26, 2008, 11:33:24 AM In the meantime, I looked up GI3 and it seemed to be some kind of protein. I didn't post because that didn't seem like much of a rock 'n' roll party drug or anything. But I am happy to announce to you:
"Gi3 does not contribute to the inhibition of adenylate cyclase when stimulation of an alpha 2-adrenergic receptor causes activation of both Gi2 and Gi3." Good news! (Or is it ... I don't know what it means.) |
