Great version of WH.....that would have been a fabulous addition to "In Concert". For anybody who loves the Blondie & Ricky era this ones a gem. The footage has been in circulation with collectors for many years, much better quality has surfaced...it is the BB's 1972 appearance at the Crystal Palace Bowl in the UK...I think the TV special was called "Good Vibrations from London" when it originally aired...which seems to be the generic UK title for nearly anything to do with the BB's in London.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eRbBPhodF4Q&feature=related Does anybody know the origins of this footage and production? Now someone tell me that a concert like that being sold from BB central wouldn't sell well.... I dare you.... :afro Title: Re: Wild Honey Video - Live BB with Blondie Post by: TonyW on April 20, 2008, 06:41:58 PM First off - thanks Jon for the reply - hopefully someday it will find its way into wider circulation. What other songs are on the video? There is no link on Eric A's site to that show.

Is that why Dennis yelled "Elton John eat you're heart out" at Knebworth before Help Me Rhonda?Title: Re: Wild Honey Video - Live BB with Blondie Post by: Malc on April 21, 2008, 02:41:13 AM A friend of mine was at that Crystal Palace show - and his recollections are of rain, people wading through the moat that was in front of the stage ... and rain. Surf's up indeed ...
Title: Re: Wild Honey Video - Live BB with Blondie Post by: Glenn Greenberg on April 21, 2008, 12:12:14 PM Oh, what I'd give to hear a live performance of "Surf's Up" by the Beach Boys in their early 70s incarnation...
Title: Re: Wild Honey Video - Live BB with Blondie Post by: KokoMoses on April 22, 2008, 02:33:15 AM I have an audience recording from not sure what year..... It's good quality. Carl sings fabulously (big shocker) and at one point during the "dove nested towers" part, the audience is being kinda loud and some guy statrs screaming about them shutting up so he can hear! Carl chuckles approvingly. It's awesome.
The "Child Is The Father Of The man" part is great with drums and extra insturmentation, though, the whole things is very faithful to the album version. If this rings a bell to anyone as to what year this was and or what show, let us know!!! I can perhaps MP3 (or something) this track to whoever wants it.... I think. This sounds like the performance from St. John's University in March of '72. I was just listening to that the other day, in fact. The next song was "Wonderful/Don't Worry Bill", and Carl actually stopped it to scold some people in the audience for fighting. Title: Re: Wild Honey Video - Live BB with Blondie Post by: TonyW on April 23, 2008, 12:10:48 AM Actually there is a soundboard recording of Surf's Up from 1972 from the Dutch TV show "Gran Gala Du Disque". I have this on the Journals Part 2 boot but it has a lot of hiss and almost drops out at one point - however - at some stage during the file sharing free for all from 5 or so years ago I did pick up a high quality recording - not quite In Concert or Carneige Hall 72 quality but not far off.
