Title: Beach Boys Brother Years Unique Single Mixes
Post by: audiodrome on January 25, 2008, 01:44:07 PM
Which singles during the Brother/Reprise Years (1970-1978) had unique mixes or differed from the LP versions and where are they currently available on CD?

This is what I have so far:

Susie Cincinnati - Greatest Hits Vol. 3
Cool Cool Water - The Warmth Of The Sun
California Saga - Greatest Hits Vol. 3
Rock 'n' Roll Music - Greatest Hits Vol. 3
It's OK - Greatest Hits Vol. 3

Were there any others?

"It's OK" on GH3 isn't a different mix - it's just sped up a fraction.

Weren't  the single mixes of Marcella and You Need a Mess of help slightly different than the album cuts, too?

Cuddle Up (a B-side, apparently not released on CD yet)

One of the boots says so but I don't hear a difference.

I think the single version is actually slightly longer, from what I've been told .Don't know if what has been booted is the actual single version, though.

Ever since GH3 was released, I've used the single version of It's OK on my "listen-in-the-car" CDs instead of the album version...the album version is way too slow.
