Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: Jonas on October 11, 2007, 01:13:54 PM $0, worth every penny.
Dig 'Weird Fishes/Arp..' and 'Videotape' Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: pixletwin on October 11, 2007, 01:56:04 PM So far I am digging the last track (Faust) the best.
Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: the captain on October 11, 2007, 04:46:37 PM I like it more than Thief. I like Bodysnatchers (the guitar), Faust/Arp (everything) and Reckoner (percussion).
Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: Jonas on October 11, 2007, 07:34:55 PM Its safe to say they peaked at Ok Computer.
And I'm OK with that. Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: pixletwin on October 11, 2007, 07:40:52 PM Its safe to say they peaked at Ok Computer. And I'm OK with that. I completely agree with that too. Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: the captain on October 11, 2007, 07:47:15 PM I don't know. I thought Kid A was really, really, really good. Really good. (Do you know what I thought of Kid A?) But I haven't ever decided whether it was better than OK Computer. They both struck me as (guess what!?) really good.

Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: Alex on October 19, 2007, 10:59:53 PM Radiohead is a pretty good group, but not as great as hype would have one believe, IMHO. Maybe its just me, but I find a lot of their stuff to be really cold, distant, and robotic. Though I do listen to Radiohead quite regularly, I prefer The Flaming Lips or Yankee Hotel Foxtrot-era Wilco to Radiohead.
I guess what I really have to say here is that Thom Yorke's music pales in comparison to Brian Wilson's (but is still a million times better than Mike Love's). I like SMiLE and Pet Sounds, and hell, even Summer Days a hundred times better than Ok Computer, but I would take a Radiohead album over Kokomo, Summer In Paradise, or Looking Back With Love any day of the week. I totally agree with every word you said. Especially the bit about the Flaming Lips. Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: Music Machine on December 13, 2007, 03:09:35 PM I paid zero, I also paid zero for their live EP and Kid A (burned them from copies I signed out from the local library,) and the song High and Dry (I downloaded it.) I did buy Amnesiac and Hail to the Theif in official retail copies.

Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: Alex on January 30, 2008, 08:57:28 AM Paid nothing, listened to it once, haven't listened to it again. Been listening to it a few more times since my last post. A few of the songs are starting to grow on me. Once I listen to it a few more times and get used to the songs I'll probably appreciate it a little bit more. I still don't believe all the hype about Radiohead being the best band of this decade and all that other "Radiohead is the greatest" BS. Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: Loaf on February 20, 2008, 11:49:46 AM Kid A and The Eraser are the best Radiohead0related albums, but Hail to the Thief, Amnesiac and In Rainbows are close. OK Computer is very good, but imo everything they have done since then is better.
I think Radiohead are the best band of the "modern era". The BBs are my favourite band, but, after The Beatles, Radiohead are definitely top 5. Unless you like the BBs and Radiohead, it's not really worth comparing them because they are quite different. Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: doob on March 01, 2008, 11:12:43 AM I think it's a grower.
It didn't knock my socks off on the first few listens. Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay? Post by: Alex on March 02, 2008, 01:58:01 PM I think Radiohead are the best band of the "modern era". The BBs are my favourite band, but, after The Beatles, Radiohead are definitely top 5. I really don't buy Thom Yorke's whole "I'm depressed" attitude at all. Its just an act used to sell more records. What happened to Radiohead, anyway? They were really great in the early to mid-90s, then they just got boring. Maybe I just don't "get it", but why do they always have to put on that "we're always depressed" act? They need a little "Soulful Old Man Sunshine" to be brought into their lives. They need to stop shooting heroin and start tripping on acid. I think I could bet Yorke, Greenwood, O'Brien, etc. a million dollars that they couldn't write a happy pop song about falling in love with a girl, Beach Boys or Beatles style, and sincerely play and sing their hearts out, without any pretensions whatsoever, if their lives depended on it. I highly doubt they could pull off sincerity. Title: Re: Radiohead - In Rainbows. How Much Did You Pay?
