Title: Best song intros Post by: carl r on August 30, 2007, 01:25:44 AM For me one of the things which make so many Beach Boys songs great are the intros, the first few seconds. As part of my general curiosity trip, I wonder, what are people's favourite intros?
Myself, I'd go for the intro of Kiss Me, Baby from the Today album. After that, Brian went through a period of writing songs without any intros at all. Good Vibrations, Heroes and Villains, Wonderful, Surf's Up, Cabinessence, Time To Get Alone, etc..

I wouldn't say that's totally true, after all, how about "Breakaway" - one of the best in my opinion. The "ooooh" and "wahoo" vocals and densely packed instruments tell you straight off it's going to be a full-on effort - my favourite is the lick of wah-wah guitar in the break, just before the first verse.
