Title: BB Friends Convention - Hotel Group Rate Ends Wednesday! Post by: Susan on July 15, 2007, 11:26:42 AM If you want to take advantage of the special group rate offered by the hotel, you must do so before this Wednesday, 18 July. THEY set that date; i cannot extend it.
We will be at the Crowne Plaza Hotel, Southbury CT. I have booked a block of rooms [code BBC] at $95 per night for both Friday and Saturday nights; more expensive rooms, also at a group rate, are available if you want a suite or a jacuzzi suite. If you choose the jacuzzi suite, the after-party is in your room! ;-) You will need to call the hotel directly in order to secure the group rate. Their phone number is (203) 598-7600. Mention the code BBC or Beach Boys Convention. Our special guests will be Andrew G Doe and Dominic Priore. Dom will be promoting his new book, Riot on Sunset Strip, and will be showing his Beatnik Beach slide show (L.A. coffeehouses and jazz joints of the late '50s and early '60s). Andrew will do the Q&A program that has been very popular at BB fan events in the UK. We are very much looking forward to having both of these guys there together! Unfortunately for us, but fortunately for him, David Marks will be in California that weekend doing promotion for his book and working on his new album. But we will have some special David moments in spite of his absence! We're also hoping to have some cool phone conversations for you, as well as other surprises. And don't forget - Junkstar's compilation for this convention will ONLY be available to convention attendees - you've gotta be there to get it! TO REGISTER: Registration is $50.00.
